Ümit Yaşar Toprak also known by his nom de guerre Abu Yusuf Al-Turki (the "Turk") was a renowned sniper within the Al-Nusra Front. Of Turkish descent, he lived in Bursa, Turkey leaving behind five children in Turkey so that he could fight for the al-Nusra Front. He was killed during a series of U.S. and Anti-ISIS Coalition airstrikes over Syria. The Long War Journal indicates that he trained fighters on how to become snipers.
