Lester Shum (Chinese: 岑敖暉) is the deputy secretary-general of the Hong Kong Federation of Students which he held since April 2014 and a leader of the 2014 pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, other core members include Alex Chow, Yvonne Leung, Eason Chung and Nathan Law. His political awakening came from an internet forum called Hong Kong Golden Forum. He was detained by the police in October 2014 due to the arrest during a sit-in in July.
