Maroun al-Ras is a village located in Southern Lebanon. It was the scene of a major confrontation between the Israeli Army and Hezbollah fighters during the 2006 Israeli-Lebanese conflict. The village was occupied by Israel after claiming it was a stronghold for Hezbollah.
