Tammam Salam
Thank you for your contribution to the page of Tammam Salam. Kindly note that he is not currently the president of Lebanon, even if the country has not elected a president. He is the Prime Minister and will remain the Prime Minister. As per the Lebanese law the Prime Minister will NOT take the position of the President of the country even if there was no elected president. Kindly do not add false information on the profile. Senator Ishaq Dar
Dear Therequiembellishere, thank you for your contributions to the page Ishaq Dar. Although most of the info in the introductory paragraphs were from a published profile, I have still deleted them from there as you rightly believed that it sends out a 'so-to-say' bias impression (they however remain as part of the published profile segment). All the information provided about the page have references so you can go through them all if you wish. The country is in a great mess, believe it or not internationally people rely on information about a person on Wiki! Since everything is sourced and referenced; I would appreciate if you dont make changes to stuff like the INFOBOX, "Senator" is his title and his full name is MOHAMMAD ISHAQ DAR. And his Prime Minister is Nawaz Sharif and not Khoso, so adding info like Khoso as his Prime Minister before Sharif is incorrect. My objective is not to favor or be bias, representing one of the most important ministers in the best way possible (without lies of course) is the best I can do to contribute to my country's well-being and believe me portraying (rightly, not without references etc) the Finance Minister of Pakistan as a capable and respectful man (its a fact) is my service to my country as it surely makes a difference! Also I dont know why you keep deleting the political offices held by him at the end of the page. They are mere facts! Please dont delete them, he has held or holds those offices! Thanks. Ex officio and the heads of state list
It is Latin for "from the office." So any extra position that one receives from the obtaining an office is ex officio. See, Andorra does not hold an election for Prince, nor does the archbishop appoint his coregent. Instead, whomever is in possession of the Presidency of France becomes Prince of Andorra. It is because he holds the office of President of France that he becomes Prince of Andorra. That is ex officio, please see the President of France article.
As to the continuous entry of Elizabeth's II inclusion of sixteen nations, it has been discussed. While you might not like it, you are in the minority and you yourself can not override the opinions of everyone else. Queen of Her Commonwealth realms was the decided wording by consensus, and it is rather inappropriate and rude for you to change it with such a dismissive tone. The list is to demonstrate net worths, it is not meant as a list of full titles or biographies. XANDERLIPTAK 01:16, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- There is a source that says Carter's worth was -$1 million. Please read the definition of net worth before you continue removing the information. Also, a hard figure means exact, while a soft figure is rounded. The figure is hard. Another thing, if you have issue with a source, you answer your talk page or add it to the discussion page. You do not discuss it by editing and placing it in the comments. XANDERLIPTAK 22:56, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

- Hi Therquiembellishere,
- Two suggestions:
- Silly but simple suggestion: purge your cache. It's conceivable you aren't actually blocked, but the old page is still being displayed, making you think you are. No idea why this might work, but it's the equivalent to rebooting your system when Windows crashes.
- More likely to work: Might be a more-complicated-than-normal autoblock. Read the block message carefully, and follow the directions exactly, so an admin can find the autoblock.
- Good luck. --Floquenbeam (talk) 00:26, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
Hello Therequiembellishere! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 9 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Emmanuelle Mignon - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Christian Frémont - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hamid Karzai
Your this edit contains errors. Ahmad Zia Massoud is the former vise president of Afghanistan and you keep re-adding this. The current vice presidents of Afghanistan are Mohammad Fahim and Karim Khalili, why are you removing them? Karz is a tiny village on the edge of Kandahar City and inside the Kandahar Province, it comes within the limits of Kandahar City. Karzai preceeded Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar and Burhanuddin Rabbani so both should be mentioned. Please review this information and stop vandalising the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.73.15.27 (talk) 23:12, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

The article Michel Roger has been proposed for deletion because under Misplaced Pages policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010 must have references.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. Kyrgyz changes
Hi, could you please hold off on making certain edits to Kyrgyzstan-related articles during this difficult time in which things are changing fast and nobody is very sure of anything? For example, Rosa Otunbaeva is not the president of the country and there is no official confirmation that Daniar Usenov has resigned as Prime Minister. Verifiable information belongs on Misplaced Pages; unverified rumors do not. Thanks. -- Hux (talk) 21:54, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Komorowski
You should be aware of the three-revert rule - you've already broken it, so you would be blocked if someone reported you. But mroe improtantly, it harms Misplaced Pages to introduce false information into an article. As you yourself say in your edit summaries, we follow what sources say, and no source (as far as I know) says that Komorowski is president of Poland. He's acting president, which is very different. I hope you won't make any more reverts at that article.--Kotniski (talk) 14:22, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

World Leaders
Could you explain your thinking behind the deletion of my contribution to the page World Leaders of 2010 concerning the leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Why are the leaders of the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey included but you feel that the leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland should not be included? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mwhite148 (talk • contribs) 15:19, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- Dear Mwhite148, the rationale behind the inclusion of the crown dependencies and the exclusion of the countries of the UK (Scotland, Wales, N Ireland) is that the former are not part of the UK, therefore the UK Prime Minister is not their head of government. However the devolved governments of the Scotland, Wales and N Ireland are only the next level of government. So this question is not about whether those leaders are "worth" including in the list, but rather about theoretical considerations. If the Welsh, Scottish and N Ireland chief ministers were included than for the sake of consistency the leaders of all 16 German states and all the US governors would have to be included too, because they are in a similar constitutional position. And then the list would become unmanageably long. ZBukov (talk) 15:48, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- I see your point, but American or German states are not commonly reffered to as countries, whereas Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland are. I still see no explanation behind not including the leaders of these countries. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mwhite148 (talk • contribs) 16:15, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- 1) You seem to be contradicting yourself within two sentences: "I see your point" followed by "I still see no explanation". So do you get my reasoning or not?
- 2) Why is the word country crucial? The constituent units of Germany and the US are called states. Is an administrative unit called "country" more independent by virtue of the name than a "state"?
- 3) Are the people whose inclusion you advocate leaders of a) an independent country or b) a colony or c) a territory with an unusual status within the state? No, they are not. But the list is made up only of these categories of people. ZBukov (talk) 19:44, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- 1) I don't 'get' your reasoning whatsoever and can still see absolutely no logic to your claims at all. It was condescension for which I apologise.
- 2) The word country is very crucial, yes. As Germany, the United States, China, Australia, ect. are divided into many states, it would be impractical to include the leaders of all of them on the wikipedia page but as I am attempting to put the leaders of only 3 extra countries to the page, I fail to see why it is essential they are deleted.
- 3) The three countries, although not independent states, are reffered to as countries around the world which is why I think they deserve inclusion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mwhite148 (talk • contribs) 15:44, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- In point 2) you start by saying that the word country is crucial, however your argument is that it would be impractical to include others who are in a similar position. So you would include your people on theoretical grounds but you'd exclude his peers on practical grounds. And you "fail to see why it is essential that they are deleted". I would say because of consistency. I think it's a fair expectation that the same criteria should be used for the leaders of all countries on the list. Let me turn this question around: How would you explain if the leaders of the next level of government were included for the UK but not for Germany? Because it would be impractical? Then why were the UK leaders put in in the first place? Or what if the German ministers-president were included but UK chief ministers were excluded? Wouldn't it be consipcuously inconsistent?
- In point 3) you just repeated your opinion that by virtue of being referred to as "countries" their leaders should be included. However you failed to reply to my question in my point 2) above: Why do leaders of a sub-national "country" deserve inclusion more that those of a sub-national "state"?
- So if you "still see absolutely no logic" in my reasoning than maybe it would be helpful if you replied to points 2) and 3) in my previous message. ZBukov (talk) 10:20, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
Important to supply comments describing your edits.
Ben, it is important to describe your edits in the edit summary box so that people viewing article history can see what is happening without being forced to look at each undocumented change by clicking on it, which is very tedious and wastes time.
Your edit history shows that very often you don't bother to include this necessary description. The "Edit summary for all major edits" statement shows you only included a description 61% of the time since 2006; in other words, you didn't bother 39% of the time. The red portions of the history graphs demonstrate vividly that in the past couple of years you failed to include a description about 50% of the time.
That is an unfortunate record, Ben, and very ironic for someone with Misplaced Pages barnstars, and it is a particular difficulty because of the many thousands of undocumented edits you have performed all over this encyclopaedia. Please help to make Misplaced Pages better for everyone with this one, small effort. --174.16.36.202 (talk) 16:55, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

About your reversion of my edit
You reverted my edit when I added the HK by-elections that are currently taking place. Judging by the edit summary it looks like a rollback. However, it was not vandalism. As I am ignorant of the scope of the list, I may have violated the notability guidelines; however, you should have undone my edit with an explanation and (ideally) put a message on my user talk page. Please reply here and put a talkback on my talk page. Thanks for reading this comment. Kayau Voting IS evil 10:46, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- I see that you also seem to have rolled back this, this and this. They are not blatant vandalism - you should provide an explanation why you reverted the edits before you undo them. By reverting the first one you have also reverted a good-faith sentence underneath. In case I am mistaken, though, then I apologise in advance. Kayau Voting IS evil 11:05, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- You can see from remarks above in section Important to supply comments describing your edits that user Therequiembellishere consistently fails to document or justify his activity, leaving himself wide open to accusations of arbitrary actions.
- Misplaced Pages policy on edit summaries:
- If reverting other editors' changes, be sure to indicate your reasons...This can be done in the edit summary and/or talk page. Reverting without giving good reasons is more likely to be perceived as combative. Remember that reverting "throws away" the work done by the other editor; consider working to improve on the other editor's text, or discussing it with them, rather than simply undoing their changes.

- The Silence of Therequiembellishere: Therequiembellishere has failed to respond on this Talk page to anything posted here since 12 January 2010, in the erroneous block section, above. That was five months ago. 174.16.29.141 (talk) 07:41, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
- Honestly, are you on crack? I respond when I can respond and on their talk page, like a normal person. I'm really sick and tired of seeing this over-dramatized shit constantly splayed all over my page by you. I don't respond as expediently here as I used to because of a combination of these issues:
- Unlike when I was twelve and got home at 2:00PM, I tend to get home at 4:00PM (on a good day, at most 10:00PM) after being at an school since 6:00AM
- Five to six AP classes worth of homework
- Work
- Generally two shows to rehearse, one play and one musical
- Organize all the funds for the school's ITS troupe
- Going to a movie, a party, or just hanging out with friends or my boyfriend
- Going to a vocal lesson
- At those are the run-of-the-mill reasons that I might not respond. There have been three weddings this semester and two university graduations of either a friend or family member I had to go to, two theatre conferences to audition for college, the SAT, Subject SATs, Bright Futures, and exams. Now that the year is almost over, I'm part of the senior's commencement, I have friends to say goodbye to, a senior project to cut, college applications to fill out, trips to take out of town, still work, still two shows (still a play and a musical) to rehearse during the summer, an AP class online, still vocal lessons, and still parties and hanging out with my friends/boyfriend. So before you come to my page again and periodically bitch at me for not responding to, frankly, rather innocuous queries for an entire month try getting a damn life instead of worrying about whether or not I've responded to people who aren't even talking to you or whether I put edit summaries after formatting a damn infobox! I know policy quite well in the four years I've edited here and what you seem to fail to grasp is that "policies" are not rules, they are guidelines. Unlike you, I don't pompously strut onto other users' talk pages and respond to their issues because I don't think for a second that I'm God's gift to Misplaced Pages but I'll be damned if someone who's apparently edited for one month is going to try and tell me what to do. Please, you're giving me an eyesore every time I check messages and see another one of these damn prods. So there. This is the response you have been waiting an entire month for, I hope you're bloody happy about it because I don't want to be doing this shit again. Therequiembellishere (talk) 14:40, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, and Kayau, there was no non-response because of "shame" because if you read Rrius's reply, he proved I was correct in my reversion; you were just wrong. Therequiembellishere (talk) 14:42, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, I see you're not quite the novice I thought you were, you didn't have the balls to use your actual user name, Odea, and logged out whenever you attacked me. So even through an username on the internet you felt the need to masquerade your identity, and poorly, to prod at me. You're clever. Therequiembellishere (talk) 17:11, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

- He was Acting President from 25 March 2005 to 15 August 2005, at which point he got full presidential power until he resigned on 15 April 2010 (in reality, until 7 April 2010 but that's a different story). Therequiembellishere (talk) 20:42, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Böhrnsen for president
Hey,
I am confident your edits to the German presidency story have been made with the best of intentions, but Böhrnsen is really not the current president, he is a substitute. I was fine with the term "acting president", but giving it some additional thought I think even this is a too euphemistic way to put it, and "acting head of state" fits much better. What is definitely outruled is calling him "president", which would not be in line with the constitution. I thus reverted your edit to Germany and hope you don't mind.

Reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Dependent Territoris table
Regarding your edit summary in removing the Dependant territories table, I will say I was only "editing along" as someone else had already added it without a proper consensus. I think it's mentioned in the bottom catagory on the talk page discussing whether or not the dependent territories should be included. The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 19:37, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Governors general
Per my edits at List of elected or appointed female heads of state: I don't know about other Commonwealth realms with a governor general, but the Prime Minister of Canada not long ago stated that the monarch of Canada is head of state, not the governor general (I left a link regarding this at the article's talk page; there's more information available). Admittedly, there are some in the country who argue the governor general is indeed the head of state, but theirs obviously goes against the official government opinion. Even absent that edict from the prime minister's office, I question the practice of presenting one side of an argument as though it is the correct one; for instance, there is a debate in Australia over who is head of state: the Queen or the governor general. Perhaps something needs to be done at List of elected or appointed female heads of state to accommodate these unique cases. --Ħ MIESIANIACAL 00:33, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Deputy Leader of Labour
I'm a little mystified about this right now. Is Harriet Harman simultaneously Acting Leader, Deputy Leader and Party Chair right now (if so, that seems ridiculous as her husband is Party Treasurer too)? Or is Jack Straw Acting Deputy Leader? I'm wondering this because I just found out about his Shadow Cabinet post of "Acting Shadow Deputy Prime Minister" which places him directly under Harman here and seems to be the same as calling him "Acting Deputy Leader of the Opposition" or William Hague's "Senior Member". If Harman remains Deputy Leader as of now, does that mean she'll retain this after the leadership election later this month or will she have to renew her mandate too? Therequiembellishere (talk) 23:44, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
- I am not sure. Jack Straw's title of "Acting Shadow Deputy Prime Minister" may just be an indication that he is shadowing Nick Clegg and perhaps has no bearing on his status in the Labour party. As a comparison the people shadowing Prescott (DPM & FSoS) and Mandelson (FSoS) weren't automatically the second most senior people in the Conservative party. Straw would be the obvious choice for shadowing Clegg's constitutional reform brief as that was part of his Justice Minister portfolio.
- I am unclear about the Labour party rules for leadership elections. There are some sources online that say Harman is planning to stay on as Deputy Leader once the new leader is appointed, but an election could be forced if enough MPs want to rock the boat by nominating an opponent. Unfortunately the best sources I can locate at the moment are blogs. Road Wizard (talk) 00:27, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think you can say Hague was his predecessor as Hague was never Shadow DPM. There is also not normally a "deputy leader of the opposition" (and as far as I know there never has been) so there is no succession between "possible 2nd in command of the Labour Party in opposition" and "semi-official 2nd in command of the Conservative party in opposition". Road Wizard (talk) 00:39, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
- But weren't Prescott and Mandelson's only shadows for their ETR and business briefs (respectively)? Another thing that makes me think that Straw's deputy-ship is more than just because of his judicial/constitutional expertise is that he isn't the outright Shadow Deputy Prime Minister like the other opposition ministers but the Acting Shadow Deputy Prime Minister. Therequiembellishere (talk) 01:47, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
- The problem is that the source simply lists a title and we have to speculate the motivations behind that title. For example we could speculate that the Conservative's "Shadow secretary for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister" title was an attempt to show who was shadowing Prescott while still distancing the party from the attitude of the public to a DPM role at that time. You may agree or disagree with my speculation, but we could never include it in the articles as it is my personal analysis of source material.
- If we have a source that says Straw is the current official or unofficial deputy leader of the Labour Party then we could repeat that statement. We can't take a title (however intriguingly phrased) and draw a conclusion from it without supporting context. Road Wizard (talk) 18:08, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
- I understand. Is there a way to get in contact with the party? Therequiembellishere (talk) 19:58, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
- I've just got off the phone with the party's headquarters and was told that Straw is indeed Harman's acting deputy until she resumes her role as deputy leader after the leadership election. Is this official enough for me to insert this information on the relevant pages? Or is it possible to exude something more official from them? If so, I'll be unable to get it--I can only make international calls so many times before they become a major headache. Therequiembellishere (talk) 08:37, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

The user who constantly deletes head of state from the infobox continues to revert, even after my last comment on the talk page. I think what is going on there is extremely unproductive. Str deletes "head of state", some other person once again inserts "president", it gets deleted. It has been going on like this for a month in an endless cycle, due to Str's lack of cooperativeness. Hey Requiem, I left a note for Euclid77 on their talk page encouraging them to start discussing and stop reverting. Please have a look at their talk page to see what you think of the tone and content. But I would like to urge you also to stop reverting: while you may find their edits disruptive (and many might agree), they're not clear-cut vandalism, and 3RR is there before you know it. Valdis Dombrovskis
What do you mean, "now Latvia"? Riga was the capital of Latvia also in 1971. Latvia was one of the 15 constituent republics (albeit occupied according to the international law) in the Soviet Union, so defined by the Soviet constitution. Even in the Soviet era, place of birth, death, etc., was defined by the republic. Analogy: politicians in the EU are identified by their respective countries, I have never seen one identified as born in Berlin/London/Amsterdam, the EU.
This is the English language Misplaced Pages, and no English speaking countries ever recognized Latvia as part of the Soviet Union. Neither did any other European countries, except Sweden. For English speaking Wikipedians this should be enough to establish Latvian primacy over the Soviet one. Another analogy: Lech Wałęsa was born in a German occupied village called Popowo, then technically (according to the contemporary German law) part of the Third Reich. Why then is Walesa's country of birth in Misplaced Pages listed as Poland? Please do not revert my edit again unless you are able to provide reasons with your reply. --Vihelik (talk) 04:14, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Kingdom of the Netherlands
Please stop deleting the three Ministers Plenipotentiary from the Kingdom of the Netherlands infobox. They are a vital part of the Kingdom government and are actually the persons that distinguish the Kingdom of the Netherlands from the Netherlands. Furthermore, the title of the Prime Minister when acting in Kingdom capacity is Chairman of the Council of Minister of the Kingdom (Voorzitter van de Rijksministerraad). Mark Rutte can be included on the article Netherlands, but I think we should wait until he is sworn in to include him on Kingdom of the Netherlands. John Boehner
Concerning the infobox, are you certain Boehner will be the next Speaker? GoodDay (talk) 22:13, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- Of course not, that's why I've kept it hidden. It precludes people who don't read notes from putting him in as Speaker anyway but placates them because it can very easily be put in if and when he is elected early January. Therequiembellishere (talk) 22:26, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

West Virginia Governor
Is Tomlin Governor & Lieutenant Governor concurrently? Or is it like Massachusetts, Lieutenant Governor-Acting Governor? GoodDay (talk) 23:40, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- I actually don't know. I think he's called the acting governor but I have no idea if that means he'll stay lieutenant governor after a special election. Therequiembellishere (talk) 23:43, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm confused too. GoodDay (talk) 23:44, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- Nevermind. This seems to say he's not acting governor as it says he's the 35th Governor of West Virginia. I don't think he's the lieutenant governor anymore. Therequiembellishere (talk) 23:46, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- So according to West Virginia law, the Senate President is next in line to succeed the Governor should anything happen to the latter. There is no formal Office of the Lieutenant Governor, however, the Senate President is entitled to use the title of Lieutenant Governor (oddly). As Tomblin, as Senate President has assumed office as Governor and seems to have the full powers of the office, the Speaker of the House of Delegates (a Richard Thompson) is next in line. I'm mystified about whether Tomblin is to serve out the rest of Manchin's term or if a special election is to be held in order for Tomblin to return to his work as Senate President. He may legally be the full Governor, but may still plan on being an Acting Governor.
- Nevermind. This seems to say he's not acting governor as it says he's the 35th Governor of West Virginia. I don't think he's the lieutenant governor anymore. Therequiembellishere (talk) 23:46, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm confused too. GoodDay (talk) 23:44, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- But then there's this weird thing that says "I will spend my time as Governor running the executive branch of government. I do not plan on presiding over or voting in the Senate. Our Senate rules contemplate that when the Senate President is unavailable, the President Pro Tempore presides over the senate." So I dunno if he's still Senate President or not! I think an email to the Governor's Office will be the best way to clear this up. Therequiembellishere (talk) 23:56, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Regarding this edit, I think that removing "Nevada" from the link makes it more difficult for the reader. Most people don't know which Sparks it is until they click the link, which means a new page to be loaded taking time. Now, I'm sure that you had a good reason that may outweigh my concerns, and I'd prefer to know why, as the edit (at a glance) doesn't make much sense. Spalds (talk) 17:08, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Re. List of Spells in Harry Potter.
In the movie 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part One' Hermione definitely pronounces "Obliviate" on her parents. We see her image fade from photos, which matches the effects described for the <Obliteration> charm. Also, the wiki-article on Hermione states that she laid a "memory charm" on her parents, convincing them that they were someones else and have a life-long ambition to relocate to Australia.

I'm not sure there is going to be a Prime Minister, as the new constitution names the President as both head of state and of the executive. http://www.mofa.gov.pk/ Hina's name is given on right hand side as Minister of State. The foreign Minister slot is empty.
As all of us work on getting the best and true information to others, I have edited the information many times (atleast 5-6 times) but due to a reason unknown to me the user Therequiembellishere has been changing it back to false information.
I suggest all of the readers to contribute positively towards this forum as it is providing free information to millions of people in the world. We are all responsible to ensure the information is free of errors and biases, based on our best efforts.
I hope this user or anyone else will not go back and change the information back to falsified.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Jerry Brown. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.
In particular, the three-revert rule states that:
- Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.

Hello, You have removed my edits when it comes to the article Andris Bērziņš (Latvian President-elect) and some other articles where this person is mentioned. Please notice that Andris Bērziņš is not yet sworn in as a president, hence it is not possible that he "succeeded" Valdis Zatlers on 8 July 2011 - please notice the use of past tence of a future event in the infoboxes. I would like you to undo the reversions you did, so we do not confuse readers by inclining that the inauguration ceremony has taken place, since it has not. /♥фĩłдωəß♥\ 09:42, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Hello there, and thanks for your new article. I've made a few changes to the referencing on the article. Please take a look at those changes, and at the template {{citeweb}}. It allows you to enter the URL, the title, the author, the publisher, the date; although you don't have to fill them all in. Then it creates a nice neat reference that is consistent with other articles. Let me know if you need any help. — Fly by Night (talk) 19:55, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

PLEASE STOP REMOVING INFORMATION AND DELETING LINKS FROM THE PAGE. A LOT OF PEOPLE WORKED HARD TO IMPROVE THE PAGE AND YET THERE IS NO REASON FOR YOU TO KEEP DELETING OUT HARD WORK. IF YOU LOOK AT MOST PAGES LIKE ANY US PRESIDENT FOR EXAMPLE, ALL HAVE EXTRA LINKS BECAUSE IT MAKES THE PAGE MORE ADVANCED. SO PLEASE STOP RUINING OUT WORK.
Why don't you go to any US President's page and look at how many links they have? Not only have you deleted the links, you deleted several offices and hence you deleted information. So you better stop vandalizing the page because its against the policy of wikipedia. I don't know what you have against allowing links to the order of office to exist or any reason to delete them.
PS Why don't you read the article that someone sent you about edit wars.
Look at this page http://en.wikipedia.org/Barack_Obama and why don't you try to explain why there are more links? The reason is simple, it makes the page more advanced and better looking. There is no legitimate reason to delete the links so PLEASE stop deleting them for no reason. I like working side by side with users, but I don't like going to war for unnecessary reasons.
You also deleted a one of the offices about his tenure in the House, hence you vandalized it.
For the page http://en.wikipedia.org/John_Roberts, I added a new link to a completely different page, which is the same as Obama's page. Is that alright by your standards?
Yes I know you left the office up this time, but in the past not only did you delete it, you also deleted one of the offices that represented his membership in the house in 1993. But I understand your logic and am glad that we resolved this dispute regarding links

Including interims in succession lists
Please explain to me where the "precedent" is coming from, or where it has been established. For example, I know for sure that we don't include interim coaches on any team's coaches list. --bender235 (talk) 09:40, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
- Is it within reach that you're explaining your revert at some point in the near future? Otherwise, I'll restore my version. Also, I might as well list my "precedents": German president Horst Köhler resigned on 31 May 2010, but his successor Christian Wulff did not take office until 30 June. Still, we don't list Norbert Lammert as "acting president" (although he technically was). Another example: William Rehnquist died on 3 September 2005, his successor John Roberts wasn't confirmed until 29 September. Betweens those date, the oldest justice (Stevens) was technically the "interim" chief justice. But again, we don't list Stevens as "interim chief justice". --bender235 (talk) 17:41, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Elizabeth II
The "since" came about because I changed it as a result of a comment at Misplaced Pages:Featured article candidates/Elizabeth II/archive1. I agreed with the reviewer that "since 1952" or "1952 to date" or "1952 onwards" looked better than a dash between a date and a word. But it's only an "I like it" kind of preference. I agree that the length is unnecessary. DrKiernan (talk) 16:45, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
Sirleaf order of office
Hi, I noticed that you once again removed the order of office field from the infobox on the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. I added a section on the talk page back in 2010 regarding this and asked in my last edit summary that users discuss any edits to that field before changing it. However, you've removed that field at least twice in the past year without any edit summary or explanation on the talk page. Can you give a reason, other than "I don't like it," for removing the information? The field exists for a reason, and it is used on a number of good and featured articles (see Barack Obama, Ban Ki-moon, Stephen Harper, etc.). Thanks. Idaltu (talk) 10:03, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- As it's been nearly a week and I haven't heard back from you, I'm re-adding the order of office field on Sirleaf's page. Again, if you feel this is in error, please discuss it on the article's talk page before changing it again. Thanks, and cheers. —Idaltu (talk) 22:51, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Ghannouchi
But even Ghannouchi himself did not pretend that he is a president and all what he did was conforming to the constitution, in fact he proclamed that he will take the charges of the absent president till he returns to Tunisia. In this case of the constitution, Ben Ali remains the effective president and Ghannouchi has not the right of the constitutional oath and so he is not a president. In fact when the constitutional council proclamed that Ben Ali is never a president, Moubazaa became a president because that is what the constitution say. I want to ask you where are you from because I'm tunisin and lived the days of the revolution in Tunisia and I'm sure of what I'm saying.--197.28.183.184 (talk) 18:10, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Mariano Rajoy, Prime minister - desginate
Hi,
As general elections in Spain designate the congressmen and not the prime minister (who is designated by the king, after being proposed by the congressmen, thus, not elected by the people), I'm afraid that, as to date, the "prime minister - designate" title is wrong (although is 99'99% sure Mariano Rajoy will be elected prime minister). 62.83.105.235 (talk) 21:51, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Hi! The same applies to Zoran Milanović and Croatian elections - until the 7th Parliament convenes in 2-3 weeks and appoints the PM, there's no official post (besides the caretaker PM). Even though this is virtually certain to happen, WP:CRYSTAL does not permit adding Milanović to list of state officials. As in case of Spain, the people elect the MPs, and the MPs elect the PM.--Tomobe03 (talk) 10:43, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Swiss Federal Councillors
Hi, I've noticed that you have changed the infoboxes in the articles about several Federal Councillors to read "Minister for ...". Federal Judges
I have noticed that on Federal Judge articles, in the infobox section, you have been e9changing the fields from appointer to nominator and changing6rerrer the target article from "List of federal judges appointed by President so & so" to "President so & so". It would only be correct to use the "nominator" field while the judge is awaiting the advice and consent of the Senate. However, once the Senate grants advice and consent, the President "appoints" the individual to office, thus "appointer" is the correct field to use for federal judges that have actually taken office. This is the usage that prevails among federal judicial articles and there is no reason at all to change it. There does not seem to be any reason to change the target link from the "list of judges appointed by" to the main Presidential articles. I would also point out that the very fact that we have articles entitled "List of federal judges appointed by Barack Obama" is primae facie evidence that "appointer" is the correct term. Mihai Răzvan Ungureanu
For now Mihai Răzvan Ungureanu does not hold any office. The laws, customs and context in Romania make him just a citizen with a task from the President. Unlike Spain, in Romania the President nominates a candidate and then the Parliament approves the cabinet he proposes or not. If he (the candidate) passes that vote, he then goes to the Presidential Palace, together with the Cabinet, and takes the oath of office. That might or might not happen tomorrow. So PLEASE BE PATIENT! I am sure that, as soon as appropriate, someone will make the necessary changes. --ES Vic (talk) 22:19, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Bernie Machen et al
Greetings, Gator fan.
I have reverted your recent edits to the Bernie Machen article. Rather than continuing a slow-motion edit-war, I thought I would drop by your talk page and explain. You may or may not be aware that there are Misplaced Pages biographies for all 16 men who have served as president of the University of Florida, and those articles are consistently written, ordered and formatted, including the following:
1. Use of Infobox Person rather than any other infobox(es).
2. All of the three-man before-and-after succession boxes were previously deleted. Instead, the articles utilize a much cleaner navbox that covers the entire 16-man succession, including full names and dates of service. This was also done consistently for the FSU, UCF and USF presidential successions, which overlap with the UF presidential succession.
3. Every article employs consistent internal spacing as permitted by WP:MOS.
4. The correct order of the standard end-of-article sections, per WP:MOS, is: (a) "See also"; (b) "References"; (c) "Bibliography"; and (d) "External links." Each of the 16 articles follows the standard section order per MOS.
Four of the 16 UF presidential articles have already undergone Good Article review and have achieved GA status. Another six are in the works, with the Sledd and Tigert article upgrades already in the works for Feature Article status. There is also a "list of" article regarding the 16 presidents that is linked in the "See also" sections and the UF president navbox. The substantive content of the Machen article, being the current and therefore most controversial subject in the sense of random IP users wanting to make random and often inappropriate additions, is a work in progress. Rather than attempting to reformat the Machen article to your personal preferences (and inconsistently with the other 15 articles and MOS), I would ask that you focus on editing the substance of the Machen article, which clearly needs work. Thanks. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 21:32, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Gauck/German presidential election
Hello Therequiembellishere,
There are no other candidates yet. You oversee that three parties in the electoral assembly (Left, NPD, Pirates) have declared they were considering own candidates. Therefore it is almost sure that Gauck will be elected, but an encyclopedia should not speculate on future events, even if the probability is more than 99%. Edit-warring on whether we add the stuff now or in four weeks is however ridiculous. Still I would like you to avoid WP:SHOUTing and re-reverting in the future, especially if you are not even right. --RJFF (talk) 21:39, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Governor articles infoboxes
Just some questions. I see you have been updating a lot of the governor info and succession boxes. I guess for cleanup. But I just was wondering why you felt the need to take out the birthname parameter from the infoboxes? Changing it to just name as you have done causes some of the infobox titles to be wrong. I can understand adding the name field, but please leave the birthname field in because it is a valid field that is used lower down in the infobox. It tends to be more important with female officeholders, I suppose, but wouldn't hurt to have it for male officeholders to list their full birth name, instead of just their commonly known name. Also, I thought infoboxes especially should have the URLs written out, not just shortened to "Official website". Seems pretty uninformative and somewhat redundant to see "Website: Official website" there. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 17:35, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

There was no General Secretary of the CPSU; it never existed, because such a title would have been breach on collective leadership... Really, please, just stop. --TIAYN (talk) 19:14, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Lee Myung-bak's birth place
Hello Therequiembellishere, I have a question on your recent edit in the Lee Myung-bak's birth place. I'm pretty sure it is a very tiny difference in style and like you said it is redundant, but in my humble opinion other South Korean presidents' infobox show they were born in the Empire of Japan (or Japanese Korea) explicitly. Please find the Kim_Dae-jung and Park Chung-hee. Or is Lee's case different from others since he was born in Osaka?
You're a very experienced editor, and I respect your decision to remove the words in question. Hope you could enlighten me on the issue, and please understand that I'm not trying to be nationalistic: I just thought the previous version was consistent with other pages, and even though it's Japan-Korea related(?) topic, it is mostly value neutral. Many Thanks, --- PBJT (talk) 05:06, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hello again, Therequiembellishere. I changed the Lee Myung-bak's birth place to the initial format: Osaka, Empire of Japan. Please let me know if you don't like my editing. Best, --- PBJT (talk) 05:56, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Baburam Bhattarai shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. SudoGhost 18:09, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Misplaced Pages, as you did at Baburam Bhattarai, you may be blocked from editing. instead of contributing to the talk, what you have done so far is you have only reverted and broken WP:3RR. by now i am sure you know nothing about the political situation in nepal. so be wise and stop! Misplaced Pages Help Survey
Hi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Misplaced Pages's help system. Mexico's election
Hello. I'm not sure if you are aware of the Mexican law on elections. The Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) will declare a winner after the district recount and after declaring the election a valid one. After this, the IFE gives the winner a "constancia de mayoría" the official document that entitles somebody as the president-elect.
Right now, there is no "president-elect" in Mexico. The electoral process is still going on. Mexican press refer to appearing leading candidate Enrique Peña as "the virtual president-elect", because of the above reasons. AlexCovarrubias 00:20, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Infobox Edits to Kurt Bills
Hello... why did you undo my edits to the infobox of Kurt Bills? His opponent, Amy Klobuchar, and many other politicians infoboxes contain those fields. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaw959 (talk • contribs) 15:06, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
Why?
Hi there. I was visiting the article on Rob McKenna, and saw that the order of office was missing from the infobox, in contrast to a version I read a few weeks prior. In trying to find out who made the change and to understand the reasoning behind it, I noticed you've made that same change to many other articles too numerous to list. I won't claim to be an overly active editor, but I do try and keep up with agreed changes to infoboxes, and I haven't been able to find any community agreement saying that we should start not using the order of office in infoboxes where applicable. Therefore, I would like to ask you describe your reasoning for making these changes. Thank you. Redverton (talk) 12:53, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry if it seems like I'm stalking you, but I checked your edits to see if you'd been online, and I find you've continued to remove the order of office from yet more articles. Again, I cannot see what basis you have for doing this, and I must stress that I desire some kind of an explanation. Needless to say, unilateral changes against consensus are not the way forward. At the risk of sounding draconian, if you wish to pursue this course of action further without discussion, I shall have to invite scrutiny from other editors. Therefore, I again stress that you please respond to my queries before carrying on. Redverton (talk) 13:36, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Succession boxes for judicial nominees
Thank you for your efforts to improve articles concerning various public officials, including nominees for judicial positions. However, I do not believe it is customary to include succession boxes in the articles for individuals who are currently nominated for a judicial position, but have not yet been confirmed for the position. Including these boxes could inadvertently create the misleading impression that these individuals are currently serving, which is especially concerning given that we all know that not all nominees are eventually confirmed. I'd welcome your thoughts on this. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 02:10, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- I actually was coming here to make a similar comment, so I will include it under the previous user's comment. In particular, relating to William L. Thomas and some other federal judge articles, you added lines to the infobox regarding succession, etc., that are not applicable at this time as this individual and the other individuals have NOT been confirmed by the Senate. I have made the appropriate correction to the William L. Thomas article and will correct the others. But you may want to double check in the future as to whether the individuals in question are merely "nominated and pending before the Senate" or have actually been "confirmed" by the Senate. Thanks. Otherwise, good work on the articles. Safiel (talk) 23:12, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Co-Princes of Andorra
Hi, I just noted your changes in Josep Maria Mauri. Some thoughts: the two coprinces of Andorra are referred to as the "episcopal coprince" (i.e. Bishop of Urgell) and the "french coprince" (i.e. President of France) - see for example both of their websites. Therefore to call the personal representative of the Bishop of Urgell in his function as head of state of Andorra as "Spanish representative of Andorra" seems to me misleading. Furthermore, he is not representing Andorra but the Co-Prince. I changed the wording to: "Representativ of the Episcopal Co-Prince of Andorra". I hope you don't mind. Website in infobox
Where a website is listed in an infobox, such as klobuchar.senate.gov, the actual name of the website should be displayed (this, not the link, is the point of including it in the infobox in the first place. Changing the display text to something generic like "Government website" is unhelpful. -Rrius (talk) 19:26, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
Your edits
As you're aware, I disagree with your formatting of politicians infoboxes to ween out information I find essential to their articles. On Antonio Villaraigosa's, you claimed: "His wife and child aren't major parts of his political life nor is his residence permanent or relevant to it" as the rationale for deleting information. I feel I should tell you that these aren't just politicians, they're people, and their personal lives are in conjunction with their political ones. I know you have been busy, doing this to many articles, but I feel that this is wrong, so please tell me your side of it. Best, Grammarxxx 21:33, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
- Again, I request your reasoning for your edits. You're deleting vital BLP info from articles with the only explanation as "Formatting infobox". I would either like to try to understand how you can justify these edits by Wiki standards, or to get an arbiter to decide if they're right. Grammarxxx 00:37, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- Well it's understandable not wanting the infobox to be overfilled with info. As for the family, spouses and children have around as much impact on decisions as religion, so why include that? And for politicians, most of them are married and have kids, so it would do well to include this info either for all, or just the few that are divorced or single. And as for the "alma mater" section, I believe it's essential to display what degree(s) they earned, as alma mater is just what schools were attended, and could confuse readers. I hope we can compromise on this. Grammarxxx 01:45, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Follow-up
Hey again. I'm sure you saw my post earlier entitled 'Why?'. I posted it coming up to two months ago, and when a response wasn't forthcoming, I added a reminder. I presumed you lead a busy life, which is why I allowed such a long amount of time for you to respond to a concern that your edits weren't following established consensus. However, I feel I have given enough time for a response, and I am disappointed you failed to give it. In order to try to understand your lack of explanation for edits were are seemingly against what the community agreed to on the format of infoboxes, I explored some of your edits and talk page. In some ways, maybe a discussion between us two was never going to resolve this, as it is clear concerns have been raised with your infobox edits for sometime now, and I doubt that could have been solved through the interaction of two people. So, what now? As I see it, you have been making comprehensive changes to the infoboxes of various articles; changes which in part have elicited concerns from other editors for a period of years, such as the removal of the order of office, for which you have received no consensus to do. I did not join Misplaced Pages to police other editors, but considering the scope (covering numerous articles) and the length of time you have been doing it despite concerns raised, I feel I have to report all this to a admin so s/he may look over this situation. I shall leave you a link to the relevant admin when I'm done. As for me, I feel this is unambigiously a case of you editing without concensus, so if I see you have made such comprehensive changes to an infobox elsewhere, I shall restore it back to its approved format. I'm sorry for whatever inquisitorial tone this post may have, but I feel I have no alternative but to speak this way. Redverton (talk) 08:49, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Greetings and... please help
Greetings Therequiembellishere. Looking back over the history of Haji Mohammad Chamkani, I see that you made a couple of edits there some time ago, and I'm looking for an editor who might know something about the subject. I'm pretty active over at Misplaced Pages in Spanish and yesterday I reverted an edit by an IP that claimed the guy was dead but providing a reference that I was unable to translate using Google. So I came over here to see if I could get any further info., but found the same claim, this time unreferenced, and which I removed. The other WPs I've checked make no mention of his death. I have been unable to find any news anywhere on this matter in the English/Spanish language press and as this is a potentially serious BLP issue, I would appreciate any pointers. The Spanish article is here, if it's of any use to you (the reference is "Noticia del fallecimiento"). Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 10:36, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

Your edits... again
Hey there, again I'd like to bring up your mass edits to US Reps. The first is the removal of .'s from degree abbreviations (B.A. -> BA; J.D. -> JD). The second of which is the use is ({{small) instead of (<small) because it changes how small the subject will become based upon how much space is available in the infobox.
(B.A.) - {{small
(B.A.) - <small
I hope we can figure this out to improve the articles as best as possible. Thanks, Grammarxxx 20:37, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
Please pay heed to "in use" tags
I had the "in use" tag on Gregory A. Phillips for a good reason, to avoid edit conflicts. You disrupted a major edit I was making, which I fortunately was able to recover. Please do not edit an article with that tag displayed. I always make haste when I use the tag and I will be removing it likely within ten minutes. Thanks. Safiel (talk) 21:39, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

US Cabinet nominees
Howdy. We prefer to use the infoboxes for office holders, not Office nominees. Also, Jewell (like Lew & Hagel) is not Secretary of the Interior-designate (that occurs between Senate confirmation & being sworn in), but rather the Secretary of the Interior-nominee. If you check, Rrius is in agreement with me. GoodDay (talk) 19:44, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

UNL
I notice that at several articles on Nebraska politicians, you've repeatedly changed University of Nebraska-Lincoln to University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Although a Google search indicates that both versions are in use, the former is almost always used in Nebraska. It's used by the school itself and by the student newspaper; it's also the version used by Nebraska's two largest newspapers, the Omaha World-Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star. A search of the New York Times website for ("university of nebraska lincoln"), which should capture both versions, shows an occasional story in which the comma version is used, but the great preponderance of hits show the dashed version; it also appears to be the form used by Reuters. Misplaced Pages's own article uses the dash rather than the comma in its title. Although a Google search for ("university of nebraska lincoln") indicates that respectable sources use the comma'd version, the dashed version appears to predominate; I'd suggest that we use it, absent compelling grounds for doing otherwise. Uhuru Kenyatta infobox
Hi Therequiembellishere. I was wondering if we could reach consensus on the details in the Uhuru Kenyatta infobox viz.:
- politicial parties: let's use the acronyms with links to the article instead of the full name of the political party
- website: use the website template to display his website rather than the words 'official website'
An example of the above can be found in your President's infobox: Barack Obama. Thank you for your edits! Ali Fazal (talk) 12:58, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
"Formatting infobox/succession boxes"
, as was the summary to changes such as this, is not a legitimate reason to: 1) Removing native_language = zh-hans parameters (
see WP:MOS-ZH; this is required for certain browsers to properly select fonts
). 2) Changing birthplace fields from what is often previously "PLACE, PROVINCE" to "PLACE, CHINA", when not one CCP leader is not Chinese-born, and "PLACE" by itself is often ambiguous, and moreover, vague in such a large land. You would not dare to do the same for, for example, Portland, Oregon and Portland, Maine, would you? Be more careful, lest future such edits begin to verge on intentional disruption. Hi there. As you've no doubt noticed, when I said awhile back that I would revert any infobox changes you made that clearly went against established consensus, I was very much committed to doing that. The changes you are making - as have been noticed by other people - are against consensus. But, there's no point in us keeping us this back and forth forever. Last time I put out the olive branch and said we could talk about this, but you never even replied. Please do reply about this now, because I didn't join Misplaced Pages to engage in this type of stuff. I really just want to go back to writing articles. Look forward to your reply. Australia and Rudd
I'm puzzled. What's the point of this edit? There's no such think as a "Prime Minister-designate". And in any case, until such time as he can demonstrate that he has the support of the independents, he can't form govt. and he can't be PM - designate or otherwise. Pdfpdf (talk) 18:00, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- It's in anticipation of the event, which may very well end up with an Abbott caretaker government but it seems less likely, judging by the news sources. I'm keeping them hidden because, obviously, it's not a confirmed thing and would violate WP:CRYSTAL but by having it there at all, it helps preclude people from doing just that (replacing Gillard with Rudd and so on). Therequiembellishere (talk) 18:04, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- Your aspirations are laudable. I hope your strategy is successful. (Because otherwise, this is all getting a bit tedious.) Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 18:12, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- Simply hiding the comment doesn't NOT violate WP:CRYSTAL. As Pdfpdf said, there's no such thing as "Prime Minister-designate", so it shouldn't be in the article at all. --AussieLegend (✉) 20:19, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey Therequiembellishere :). Thanks so much for your edit here; unfortunately it looks like you accidentally added nowiki tags. This isn't your fault, it's just that the new editor doesn't directly accept markup (like references and links) - although we're looking at ways to make it handle people trying to use markup in a better way. In the meantime, the userguide here should help with how to add things like links and references. Thanks, and let me know if you see any other issues or have any comments. Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:31, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, that needs to be fixed :). I'm glad to see so many users adapting to the software - I think it has the potential to be far friendlier than markup, once we get the kinks ironed out. Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:36, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hey, I like markup for a lot of things, too :). I'm still on monobook - my line is "If I was any more stubborn I'd spend my days throwing clogs in power looms". Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 23:41, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
Hassanal Bolkiah note on Heads of state list
I saw you reverted my note on the Sultan of Brunei pointing out that he has been Sultan since 1967. The reason I put that note up was to avoid a potential reader thinking Hassanal came to the throne in 1984, but rather that 1 January 1984 saw only a change in Brunei's status. List of current heads of state and government
I note that you have reverted my edit on the above article (without an edit summary). John D. Vanderhoof
Let's forget our dispute on whether orders should be put into infoboxes in principle for a second - how does putting orders in on John D. Vanderhoof's infobox in particular cause unnecessary stretching? Please be aware that I would, for once, like a response. I always tried approaching you to resolve our dispute, but you would never even bother responding. Redverton (talk) 18:31, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- To be honest, we really need to have a chat about the orders thing. We've been having this back and forth for months now, and you've never even responded to my entreaties that we actually have a proper conversation about this. I only want to follow what the community decides - if the community decides not to have orders, I'll help you clear them up. If the community decides to continue with the current consensus and have orders, there you are. I'm perfectly up for having something like an RFC on this, but we're not going to resolve this if you're not even going to bother answering. Otherwise, I'll just keep following current consensus, and put back in orders where applicable. Believe me, I can keep this up. The ball is in your court. Redverton (talk) 18:47, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
Ali Zeidana
Please provide your basis for indicating Zeidan's term as Prime Minister has ended. Being kidnapped disables someone from carrying out Prime Minister duties, but it doesn't make someone not Prime Minister. When a U.S. president, for example, is incapacitated, the Vice President becomes Acting President, not President. In the U.S. we have a constitutional basis for carrying out succession. Now, would you please cite a Libyan law or part of its interim constitution which provides orders for succession. Thank you. GnarlyLikeWhoa (talk) 06:52, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

I would implore you that we talk to try to resolve this dispute, but as we know I've been asking that for months and yet no response. I had hoped to have seen the end of this order removal fixation, but unfortunately it seems not. And I see other concerns have been expressed by other people. I can only implore you one more time to please respond, so we can talk about this. Otherwise, I feel no choice but to invite the scrutiny of other editors, and pursue resolution through a higher process. Redverton (talk) 02:48, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello. Please could you show me the source for your edit summary "Unbulletted lists are for 30+ items"? When I inserted an unbulleted list into that infobox, I cited WP:UBLIST, which states an unbulleted list should be used for lists up to 30 items, for example in infobox fields. Afoa Moega Lutu
In 2012, you added the party affiliation for Afoa Moega Lutu as the "Samoa Reunification Party." I've been checking around, and I can't find any record of such an entity ever existing. If you have any insights I'd be interested, but I think that factoid might be from an erroneous edit to the 2008 election article, so I'm planning to remove it from the infobox. -LtNOWIS (talk) 10:06, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

Tony Award Discussion
Hello - there is a discussion happening at the bottom of this page ] about if the nominations list for Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play should have character names for all nominees. I think the character names are an important part of the list and should be there. The creator of the list refuses to add them because it is a "Featured List" of his. Let us know your thoughts on this. Thanks!

Coucil of the European Union
Aight 2009 (talk) 19:58, 23 October 2014 (UTC) Hello, I would be grateful if you could help or express your opinion at least about Coucil of the European Union article. User:Kashmiri steadfastly revert names of parties to the generic ones like: Enviromental Party - The Greens (Sweden) to Green Party only. It's like calling every ruling party of Eastern Bloc communist only nut in Poland ruling party wa Polish United Worker's Party. I used in that article full translation of every party's name just like in the Template:Members of the European Council but this user can't stand also that Det Radikale Venstre doesn't mean Danish Social Liberal Party but use this name. He also called me to edit warring but the result was: stale, i'll copy here his and my rationale.
Given our mutual undoing of revisions, I thought it would be more productive to have a rational discussion about this. I do not know you personally, so I have no knowledge about your familiarity with Danish political history, so please allow me to elaborate on it. I myself am from Denmark and has, as my personal interest, history and politics.
When parliamentary democracy was introduced in Denmark in 1849, there were two primary political forces. Conservatives (Typically the aristocracy etc.) called Højre (Literally "Right") and liberals (Typically farmers) called Venstre (Literally "Left"). The liberals chose that name to distinguish themselves from Højre.
However, later the Social Democrats was formed, which represented workers and as such was located, politically, to the left of the party called Venstre. Later there was a split in Venstre, and this new party named itself "Det Radikale Venstre", literally "The Radical Left" as you note. In this sense the word "Left" does not refer to being left-wing politically, it refers to the association with the party called Venstre.
"Radikale Venstre" is a name that ONLY makes sense in Danish, because the name "Venstre", when used in Denmark, explicitly refers to the Liberal Party of Denmark (As Venstre calls itself in English). Also, Radikale Venstre on their web page states what their name is in English: http://radikale.dk/english As you can see they clear say: "the Danish Social-Liberal Party", and therefore, since that is what they call themselves, that is the correct name in English.
Also, there is a problem with literally translating their name as "The Radical Left", because many far-left socialist and communist parties would, in English, use a similar name. Such as Syriza in Greece, whose name is a short of "Coalition of the Radical Left", so you risk major confusion, both in terms of parties, but also in terms of what politics the parties represent. That is most likely also why Radikale Venstre, themselves, say that in English they are named "Danish Social-Liberal Party".
I hope this clears up the situation.
Tsuroerusu (talk) 23:13, 8 October 2014 (UTC) Joining the discussion as one who did the second revert. Please take time to read WP:NCPP as it directly applies here; any doubts as regards that party's English-language name will only be welcome on the Talk pages under Danish Social Liberal Party. Please also read WP:3R. Regards, kashmiri TALK 23:50, 8 October 2014 (UTC) So Social democratic party in Portugal should change its name exceptionally for english too because now is right-wing and is a member of EPP? Case of the name Danish social liberal party I understood just like the name of oirechtas. In constitution it is called as Parliament of Ireland but this is just describing of what oirechtas means, not its translation. This situation include irish parties like fianna fail. But because English is a national language of Ireland and in parties register is only one name used irish parties hardly could be included in English name. Aight 2009 (talk) 08:12, 9 October 2014 (UTC) If you disagree with the naming Radikale Venstre you can follow the procedure outlined here to propose a page move. Please don't drag the discussion out over other pages and your user page is no place to discuss article naming. — Blue-Haired Lawyer t 23:42, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
and this from User:Blue-Haired Lawyer, he didn't respond to this answer. if you see close to talk which somebody started you would read that no one answer on my statement. please read it firstly. next thing is if people think that radikale means social-liberal it's shame and being against the dictionary. Why we then include radical left name on the article of party? I repeat it but going this way Portuguese social democratic party should change name but only in English translation because isn't social democratic but centre-right. Oh but why didn't do it? because they use dictionary. Aight 2009 (talk) 06:53, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
I can add that until this year people used "original" name of party GERB in Bulgaria which was said to abbreviation but it doesn't. Party was registered as GERB only. People used to think that cannot be full name so they created false acronym GERB= Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria. We should keep only original name. I add also that this cannot take place with irish parties because they are registered only in irish, so irish English use it without translation. Aight 2009 (talk) 06:58, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
In addition I don't want to change article name of radikale venstre (name of GERB I changed) I just defend using original name on the article Council of the European Union. Aight 2009 (talk) 09:09, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

Chairperson
Thank you for tidying up a lot of politicians' infoboxes, but can you please stop deleting references for a person's religion (which is potentially contentious, hence the reference) and can you please not change "Chairman" and "Chairwoman" to "Chairperson". We use the style that the politician prefers, which is usually Chairman. This means that you'll also see women variously designated as "Chairwoman" (eg Barbara Mikulski) and "Chairman" (eg Dianne Feinstein). Please stop making this change and respect the person's preference. Thanks, Tiller54 (talk) 21:56, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Not so minor
I note that in one of your recent edits to Ben Sasse, you removed a citation (diff). Your edit summary didn't explain why, and I can't think of any reason why you might have done so. I've restored the deleted citation; if you really think it doesn't belong, I'd suggest that you justify its removal in the edit summary or at the talk page.
I note, as well, that you marked that edit as a minor one. This seems directly contrary to WP:MINOR, whose subsection Help:Minor_edit#When_not_to_mark_an_edit_as_a_minor_edit includes "Adding or removing references or external links in an article". Since many editors have their watchlists set to exclude minor edits, it's best to err on the side of caution in marking edits as minor; I'd strongly urge you to do so in the future, especially when editing articles about political figures, where even a seemingly innocuous edit could prove controversial. — Ammodramus (talk) 23:42, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

MPs term ending dates
Hi, I noticed you had been going through the pages of articles relating to the end date for some people who were Members of Parliament in the United Kingdom. As far as I understand for most MPs that were not re-elected this should read 30 March 2015. That was the date that this Parliament was dissolved and when these people ceased to become MPs- not the date of the general election for the next Parliament, which was held on 7 May 2015. I was wondering if it would be helpful to point you towards the official explanation of this, which can be found here: Dissolution of Parliament. Drchriswilliams (talk) 16:00, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Seriously, all MPs cease to be MPs when Parliament is dissolved. That's how it works. After dissolution there are no Members of Parliament until the election results are declared. If they held ministerial posts then they continue to do so until a successor is appointed, but one does not need to be an MP to hold such a position. --Walnuts go kapow (talk) 16:03, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- I started writing that before Drchriswilliams posted the comment above, but I am happy to second what s/he said! --Walnuts go kapow (talk) 16:06, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
I third that, and suggest you undo all of your own undos on this issue. – Smyth\ 17:06, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Therequiembellishere rarely answers any requests for explanations of why reverts are taking place against users that have clearly provided a solid foundation for their edit. As the law states that members stop being an MP on the dissolution of Parliament then May 7 is obviously incorrect as the end date for the previous term in office. They stop being an MP but may be a Minister of the Government until relieved or they resign, a completely separate body. Nasnema Chat 18:01, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- Nasnema, have we ever interacted before? Am I not allowed to leave my computer. I was going to say something about apologies and thanks for the info to the three above but after your unwarranted jibe, I'll just leave it at that. Therequiembellishere (talk) 23:56, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- Total nonsense to whoever declares an MP end date before a new MP is returned. See all previous UK general election articles and infoboxes. the date of dissoluitonment is not taken on Wikiepida as per longstanding general consensus if you wish to make such a sweeping and unilateral change go to the main wikiproject and not a user talk page. The WikiProject Politics of the United Kingdom is where to discuss this. Sport and politics (talk) 15:01, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
- I second what Sport and politics says regarding this. If you were seriously going to say the term ended on 30 March, then yuo'd have to show a gap in tenure for every other MP in the house who retained their seat. Clearly that would be silly, and we don't bring the technicality of the dissolution of parliament to imply that the seat was vacant for that time. Legally yes, but practically no. As said above, if you really want to change this long standing convention, an RfC would be needed at WikiProject Politics of the United Kingdom. — Amakuru (talk) 22:48, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Infobox for MPs
Why are you changing the infoboxes of MPs to "officeholder"? The instructions for template:Infobox officeholder state that the appropriate derived template should be used, and Infobox MP is clearly the most appropriate here. Is there a good reason to go against this? Bagunceiro (talk) 20:42, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- I've been told in the past that using those titles involves an unnecessary redirect and that "officeholder" was best but it's possible the precedent has changed since then. Therequiembellishere (talk)
- As Bagunceiro has pointed out, the template provides clear guidelines on infobox to use. There is no harm in there being a redirect, that is the whole purpose of redirects therefore there is no reason for doing this. Can you please stop doing this? Tanbircdq (talk) 09:49, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, Template:Infobox officeholder states; "Please use the most appropriate name when placing this template on a page." Therefore, despite previously being advised of this (from Bagunceiro and I), why do you change every infobox to officeholder? Now you can either stop doing this, explain why you continue to do this (as per WP:BRD) or the matter can be taken to WP:ANI. The choice is yours, thanks. Tanbircdq (talk) 18:41, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
