The core software was originally written by Professor Helmut Dersch of the Fachhochschule Furtwangen, and is the basis of many open source and commercial programs. For details see
Dr. Dersch no longer works on the project, which is now maintained by a group of volunteers at Sourceforge (see external links).
Note: The PanoTools Next Generation group has forked the public version of the PanoTools wiki into a group project. The NG version is closely managed with contributions monitored and in most cases moved or deleted if your not a member of the NG group.
