Surbhi Jyoti (born 29 May 1988) is an Indian actress, model, dancer, and radio & television presenter. She is popular for her role in the TV series Qubool Hai on Zee TV.

Career

Jyoti started her career with regional theater and movies. She worked in Punjabi language films Ik Kudi Punjab Di, Raula Pai Gaya and Munde Patiala De. as well as the Punjabi television series Akiyaan To Door Jayen Na and Kach Diyan Wanga in which she played the role of Sona and Preet Sehgal respectively.

In 2012 she made her debut on Indian television with Qubool Hai. She played the role of Zoya Farooqui. In October 2014 Kavita Awaasthi writing for Hindustan Times stated that "Surbhi made a mark with her effervescent character of Zoya Farooqui in Qubool Hai". Jyoti won the GR8! Performer of the year-female at the Indian Television Academy Awards and Gold best debut actress at the Zee Gold Awards 2013 for her portrayal of Zoya Farooqui. The Hindustan Times credited Karan Singh Grover and Jyoti's chemistry as the reason of Qubool Hai's success. The onscreen couple also won two Best Jodi awards In 2014 Qubool Hai underwent a revamp thereafter she played a double role of Sanam and Seher. In 2014, she ranked 16th in an annual poll conducted by UK-based weekly newspaper Eastern Eye. Jyoti was given Trendsetter Of The Year at Television Style Awards 2015. On 29 May 2015 Gayatri Kolwankar writing for The Times Of India stated that "Surbhi Jyoti has been the face of 'Qubool Hai' since its inception and her fame has been increasing. The Times of India also stated that Karanvir Bohra and Jyoti are one of the Television couples who have an "impressive fan following" on social networking sites, which they leverage through sharing on-set pictures. At Zee Gold Awards 2015, Bohra and Jyoti were given the Best Onscreen Jodi Award. Jyoti has romanced seven male actors for the show. She was one of the actresses who shooted for Telly Calender 2015.
