Westfield Trumbull is a shopping mall in Trumbull, Connecticut. In order to delight longtime shoppers and attract new customers at the same time, Westfield Trumbull has been evolving in spectacular style.

The mall is a two-story structure located on Main Street. Anchor stores are J. C. Penney, Lord & Taylor, Macy's, and Target.

The first f.y.e. store opened at the mall in 1993.

History

The Westfield Trumbull was originally known as the Trumbull Shopping Park and was built in 1964 by the Frouge Corporation, with a branch of the E. J. Korvette discount department store and D.M. Read (later Read's) as its two original anchor stores. "Connecticut to get a Big Korvette Store". New York Times. November 18, 1961. In 1977, it was purchased by The Westfield Group and became the first U.S. mall purchased by the Australian mall operator. It was renamed as Westfield Shoppingtown-Trumbull in late 1998, which was changed to its current name in 2005. The fountain on the ground floor near JCPenney was demolished into an open space in December 2008. It has become a children's play area.

Connecticut's first Uniqlo store opened adjacent to Lord & Taylor in November 2013.

The Cheesecake Factory opened its third Connecticut location at the mall in August 2014.

Revitalization 1987–1990

• Added 126,000 square feet (11,700 m) of small shops.
• Anchor store JCPenney was added to the mall in 1987.
• Anchor store Lord & Taylor was added to the mall in 1990.
• Expansion of the food court.

Revitalization 2008–2010

A $35 million revitalization of the mall was announced in Fall 2009 and was completed in November 2010. The revitalization included:

• The two-floor anchor store Target was added to the mall in 2008.
• Inviting new facades and points of entry.
• New court and common areas featuring stone and wood décor, lush landscaping and leather furniture.
• Additional skylights and new lighting.
• Contemporary flooring featuring porcelain glass tile and plush carpeting.
• New and renovated restrooms.
• Fully remodeled Food Court including a new bistro-style dining terrace and contemporary new storefronts for 12 eateries.

• Target (originally D.M. Reads then Jordan Marsh then Abraham & Straus followed by Macy's)

As of Early 2015, the mall's shops include Abercrombie & Fitch, Aéropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Banana Republic, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Charlotte Russe, Godiva Chocolatier, H&M, Men's Wearhouse, Old Navy, Uniqlo, Sephora, & Swarovski.

Transportation

Bus transportation is available at door #2 (near Macy's) via the Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority, along with taxi service.
