Vladimir Ronin is a scientist who is accredited as the inventor of energetically modified cement (EMC), and is a director of EMC Cement BV, the company which controls the patents to all EMC technology.
Early life and education
Ronin received his ME Honor Diploma Cement and Concrete Chemical Technology in 1973 from Belorussian Polytechnic University and his PhD in 1981 from Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering (PhD dissertation: "Chemically Resistant Polymer Impregnated Concrete").
Career
From 1973 through 1991, Ronin was employed by Minsk Institute of Construction Materials, first as a research engineer, then Head of the Research Division (1983-1991).
In 1991 Ronin joined Luleå University of Technology in Sweden, first as a Guest Researcher, then as a senior Researcher, and in 1999 became an Professor at LTU's Division of Structural Engineering, Cement Chemistry and Technology.
Since 1993, Ronin has served as Technical Director of EMC Development AB (the research arm of EMC Cement BV) and Manager of the General Partner of Texas EMC Products Ltd.
Ronin has contributed to over 30 patents and has authored more than 50 and noted technical publications in a variety of recognized scientific journals.
Personal life
Ronin is married with one son. He lives in Luleå, Sweden.
