Career

Film

In 2010, Santos played the role of Rafael, a young Brazilian arriving to New York City in 1962, in Bemvindo (Welcome). Written, directed and produced by Alexandra Roxo, Bemvindo is based on a true story and was made for the 2010 5x5 Project at the Domani Vision Society.

In the Fall of 2011, after two months of work, Christopher J. Lopez and Santos completed the script for The Cure which was shot in December of the same year and completed in early 2012. The Cure, where Santos plays the role of Damien Villanueva, premiered at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

Davi Santos seems to live and breathe acting. While watching so many clips that it made my head spin, there were definitely many moments where I saw my Tim. … Already in my mind, the names Davi Santos and Tim Wyman are becoming synonymous.

-- Bell, J. (2014)

On December 9, 2014 Blue Seraph Productions announced that Santos will portray the role of Tim Wyman in their third feature film Something Like Summer based on Jay Bell's acclaimed novel of the same name.

Theatre

Santos is especially engaging, with a loose, playful quality that hints at his potential should he continue in this career.

— Lee, D. (2009)

Running from August 14th to August 25th at the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival, Santos played his first Off-Broadway role as Hunter in the world premiere of Afterlight by Monica Flory at the Cherry Lane Theatre.

In early 2010, Santos presented a staged reading of Pail of Smoke by Peter Paulino, a play in progress about an ambitious politician struggling for success who ends up sacrifiyig his sexuality, identity and goodness to win. Later that year, Pail of Smoke premiered at Macaulay Honors College and Santos shared credits with Emmy nominee Ron Raines and Broadway veteran Dona D. Vaugh.

In 2011, Davi Santos portrayed the seductive titular character of Salome at an irreverent and erotic new production of Oscar Wilde's Salome. Presented at The Secret Theatre from October 6th to October 16th, the Brooklyn-based Femme Fatale Theatre production featured an all-male cast and explored unrequited lust and sexual taboos through a distinctly queer aesthetic.

Presented at the 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival, Santos stared, at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, in Trouble: The Musical, a new rock musical called "intense", "shocking", and "profoundly moving" during its London Premiere.
