John Funder is a controversial Australian medical researcher.

He is a Senior Fellow at Prince Henry's Institute of Medical Research at Monash Medical Centre, and a Professorial Fellow at the Centre for Neuroscience at University of Melbourne.In 2002 he,along with one of his proteges was found guilty of prsenting a fraudulent report on an alleged case of scientific misconduct and described by the judge as a "dishonest racist."Reference

Because of the controversies associatied with his name,he was denied the Chairmanship of NH & MRC which he coveted.


Despite this he remains a director of the Harold Mitchell Foundation and an Officer of the Order of Australia.
