Infobox Fußballspieler

hi, please restore template:Infobox Fußballspieler. if you check the code that I wrote, it's a "substitution only" template, which I was planning to use to translate articles on this site, similar to Template:Infobox Burg. if there is a fundamental problem with it, we can discuss it at WP:TFD or WP:DRV. thank you. Frietjes (talk) 13:43, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Frietjes I left you a message on your talk page about this. You haven't responded there to that message or the other messages I left. Bgwhite (talk) 21:23, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
I searched my talk page and you said "I deleted {{Infobox Fußballspieler}}. Not sure why you re-created it for a blocked user on dewiki to stage the stuff that he was blocked there for" in a thread about {{infobox school}}. (1) check the deletion / old revision history, I am fairly certain that it has never been anything similar to the template which I created, (2) if you check the code that I wrote, you will see it was a "substitution only" template which is unrelated to the prior "test pages" which occupied that template location, (3) since it is "substitution only", it provides no useful output when it isn't substituted, so it was not being used by a "blocked user on dewiki". instead it can only be used for writing articles on this wiki, since it's substitution only. I really don't know how else to explain it to you. Frietjes (talk) 14:22, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Frietjes As I stated on your talk page, I'm not sure why you re-created it for a blocked user. It was being used for ~50 articles by the blocked user. Blocked user even said you "was kind enough to create a BNR template" (translated version). The editor has been blocked 5 times on dewiki for creating non-notable articles and changes they made to other articles. I looked at several articles they had done in their user space and they were all for 18-year old footballers who haven't played for any senior teams. They were creating/modifying articles here because they were blocked on dewiki. Once the block is over they were going to transfer the articles over. Long story short, the template was helping a blocked user get around his ban. Bgwhite (talk) 18:31, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
NONONONO! I was blocked because of an argument twice so I undid some changes. My articles were liked. SO DO NOT PUBLISH FAKE THINGS ABOUT ME!--XaviYuahanda (talk) 19:39, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
PS: Articles with JFB are players without professional games --XaviYuahanda (talk) 19:42, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Look here:Finished Articles --XaviYuahanda (talk) 20:07, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
If you feel it is beneficial to have that template around, then restore it after the 15th. That is when their ban ends. Bgwhite (talk) 18:38, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
again, it was a "substitution only" template, so it was not helping an editor who refused to substitute it. if you were to restore the template, then view a page transcluding the template you would see this. I guess the next step is WP:DRV? Frietjes (talk) 19:02, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Frietjes The editor thought it beneficial. Goto DRV if you like or wait till the 15th, but I don't understand wanting to help a banned user who is doing things here that they got banned for. Bgwhite (talk) 19:16, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
it's impossible for me to demonstrate to you how unhelpful the template is for this user while the template is deleted, so I guess DRV it is. perhaps another admin, like User:Plastikspork, can look at the deleted code and explain to you how it works. I thought you would take my word over another user, but sadly you won't. Frietjes (talk) 19:21, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Frietjes I don't understand why you have taken this so personal. I don't understand why you MUST have the template back NOW. I also don't understand why you haven't responded to me on your talk page after several days. Well, I guess it appears you are upset at me and don't want to help me any further. Bgwhite (talk) 20:09, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
(1) I created a template to help with translating articles from German to English, (2) you deleted the template using a criteria which clearly did not apply, (3) I kindly asked you to restore the template, (4) you refused, accusing me of collaborating with a blocked user. I have tried to explain to you multiple times that this template is useless when it's not substituted, but you are (apparently) unable to understand that. I am tired of trying to explain the same thing to you over and over and over again. the only solution that I can see is to have someone else explain it to you. Frietjes (talk) 20:20, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Frietjes I never said and I don't think you are collaborating with a blocked user. You didn't know they were blocked. I DID NOT REFUSE, I said after the 15th. You still haven't said why this can't wait 6 days and you MUST have it now. You are (apparently) unable to understand my position and must have this template. You want it so bad that you don't respond to my questions on your talk page after 3 days, my questions here and apparently no longer want to deal with me all over wanting a template now instead of waiting six days. I hope those six days are worth it. Bgwhite (talk) 20:36, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
I am unaware of any unanswered questions from you on my talk page. Frietjes (talk) 20:45, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
XaviYuahanda is blocked until November 20. apparently your position is that I should not work on translating articles for this WP until he is unblocked on the German Misplaced Pages, which makes no sense to me. Frietjes (talk) 20:52, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Frietjes I asked you about the deprecated categories I cleaned out and if you could modify the Infobox templates. I thought they were blocked till the 15th, sorry. You have never mentioned about you needing the template. How can I know about it when you haven't said anything? Bgwhite (talk) 21:01, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
those were questions for me? they were indented as responses to Magioladitis. you can put an end to this entire nonsense by simply undeleting the template I created. Frietjes (talk) 22:02, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Frietjes Magioladitis asked you a question and then I did. Can you delete the deprecated parameters in the infobox template, but still leave in the detection? Magioladitis doesn't deal with that. I really don't know why you are refusing to answer any of my questions. All I'm trying to do is stop a blocked user getting what they want to go around a ban. You can't see this and have taken this personally. How is this "nonsense" over by undeleting... If I did, your still refusing to help me anymore, I still got ANI threats, the banned user gets their way... all for a few days. I hope you are happy and very proud of yourself. Don't write here anymore. This is over. Bgwhite (talk) 23:30, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Don't hate me because I'm organized...

I've got good news and I've got bad news. The good news is that I found a bunch of categories that were tracking deprecated template parameters but that weren't members of Category:Deprecated parameters. The bad news is the same.

Bot action

Hey there! Just out of curiosity, is this dummy edit a glitch? It seems like it's just adding spaces and moving stub templates... Rehman 13:09, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Rehman No. I get a listing of articles with broken brackets. I run the bot first on the list and the bot usually fixes about 2/3 of the articles. I then fix the rest manually. Depending on how many articles are on all the lists and my schedule, It can take me a few hours upto ~18 hours to fix them manually. Northern Power Station did have a broken bracket which you did fix, so you saved me some time by not going back and fixing that. Bgwhite (talk) 17:58, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks! Rehman 23:52, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Reference errors on 10 November

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:25, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Teddy boy

Please explain why you keep removing my reference from the article. Plumpy Humperdinkle (talk) 13:51, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Plumpy Humperdinkle Sorry, I was confused. I was thinking you were linking to a Misplaced Pages page. I've added the ref back in and formatted it correctly. Bgwhite (talk) 08:07, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Alan Partridge

FYI - I suspect the IP that keeps adding junk to the Alan Partridge article is simply vandalising it. Some of the things they're adding are part of the character's fictional history, but most of them never happened anywhere, in fiction or reality. You've warned the IP now so I won't report them for vandalism or try to get the page protected unless the edits continue. Thanks for your help! Popcornduff (talk) 03:28, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Popcornduff I'm going to defer to you about the article's content as I know nothing about him. If the IP returns, give me a heads up. Congrats on getting the article to GA status. That's always a time-consuming accomplishment. Bgwhite (talk) 05:25, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Piedad Bonnett

You corrected a bracket matching problem on this page, but failed to notice that the previous IP edit was obvious vandalism. Please try to check for vandalism before using automated tools(?), because it can make things harder. Thanks! Imaginatorium (talk) 14:56, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Imaginatorium The "obvious" vandalism was in Spanish, which I don't know. People writing "manually" also miss vandalism. Nobody is perfect. Bgwhite (talk) 21:20, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't mean to bite. But spot the warning !flags: the vacuous !comment ("Adding content"); the fact that after you fixed the syntax the effect of the edit was to change a working wl to a !redlink (not added content even); that the added text was not in English, with no obvious explanation/quotation. I can't really read Spanish either (something about "Take a chicken..."???), but it is not likely that a page title will need to be preceded by a sentence of short words in a foreign language. Anyway, never mind, please keep up the good work. Imaginatorium (talk) 05:44, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

April 1939

Why did you revert April 1939 to a redirect? There was ategory:Months in the 1900s|*1939-03]] at the top, which I have already removed. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 19:45, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

GeoffreyT2000 That was a mistake. I had come off reverting several other date articles (ie ]) and was thinking this was similar. Bgwhite (talk) 21:23, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Can you please add a new feature to add the Category, template and redirect tags to Wikiproject Assessment tags for WikiProject Jainism? This will be required to run at least once to correct all WP Tags and later can be rerun at intervals of maybe a month or so. Thanks! -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 07:43, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Capankajsmilyo I don't exactly understand what you are asking. Are you referring to this? If so, you need to make a request at Misplaced Pages talk:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Index. Bgwhite (talk) 07:56, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Let me try to elaborate. Check out Talk:Bharata Chakravarti. It has been assessed as stub for WP:India and WP:Biography. It a redirect to Bharata Chakravartin, so it should have been reassessed as redirect on talk page. Similarly, sone templates and categories might have been wrongly assessed. If your bot can do that job for some of the wikiprojects that would be really helpful. -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 08:02, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Capankajsmilyo When you moved the Bharata Chakravarti page, you should have clicked to move the talk page too. There were past talk messages, so they belonged with the article. I've moved the talk page.
There is one big problem with your request... finding the templates and categories. If you look at Bharata Chakravarti now, it is just a redirect. There is no way of knowing what project that redirect may or may not belong to. Templates and Categories are somewhat easier as they maybe already part of a category that is related to Jainism. So, the first step is to make a list of the parent categories that belong to Jainism. A bot then can be run on the listing. My bot doesn't run this, but Magioladitis does do this. Bgwhite (talk) 08:20, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the help and reference. :D -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 08:22, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) @Capankajsmilyo: The {{WikiProject Jainism}} template isn't set up to recognise either Template or Redirect as classes. As it stands, it recognises the 'standard' quality scale plus Category and Disambig; at one time, it did recognise Template as well, but that was removed (along with File, Portal and Project) almost six years ago. It may have recognised Redirect as a class prior to 1 March 2009, but certainly not since then. --Redrose64 (talk) 12:56, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Redrose64 can you please help in adding such recognition in the said Wikiproject? -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 13:00, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
I can, yes; it's a simple matter of adding two parameters |template=yes |redirect=yes to the existing {{class mask}} template that is inside {{WikiProject Jainism}}, and then creating Category:Template-Class Jainism articles and Category:Redirect-Class Jainism articles. But before doing that, has it been discussed anywhere other than here - for example, at either Template talk:WikiProject Jainism or Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Jainism? --Redrose64 (talk) 13:12, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
That would be great, thanks. I am not sure about that. I requested for it in the teahouse though. -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 17:56, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Teahouse is rather general (in that anybody and everybody posts there regardless of interest), what we really need is a discussion where most (if not all) participants are members of WikiProject Jainism, that way we can be sure that there is consensus from that WikiProject. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:43, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
I can assure you there is a broad consensus on this. If you still wanna confirm, would you please post on the Wikiproject page. I am not sure, whether such a post will be covered in my topic ban. -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 19:31, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Ah. You're topic banned: thanks for mentioning it. In which case, that puts a whole new light on it. I rather think that by discussing these matters here, that you are in breach of your topic ban; and if I were to make those edits at your request, I would then be in violation of WP:PROXYING - perhaps Bishonen (talk · contribs) can clarify that. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:06, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, Redrose64. Capankajsmilyo, I can't believe you've found yet another way to push the boundaries of your topic ban. When you noticed yourself typing the word "Jainism", didn't that tell you something? Stay away from these topics. Don't try to deal with them by proxy or in any other way. Not on user talkpages, not at the Teahouse, not anywhere. Leave air between yourself and them. I seem to keep giving you last warnings. Bishonen | talk 22:09, 12 November 2015 (UTC).

You went too far and too fast on your revert at Music OCR

You only cause a loss of time, since you prevent all other users from bringing up to date the table which you don't want to be visible, thus effectively effacing the eight year old content created by Donald Byrd eight years ago. Only the skeleton would have remained. Please think first before doing such stuff. --L.Willms (talk) 12:50, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

L.Willms You added copyrighted material. Per policy, copyrighted material must be removed. I removed content that you put on the page that was copied from Byrd's book. You are reverting other edits by other people. Please read OWN. You do not own the page and you must follow the rules like everybody else. Bgwhite (talk) 23:24, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Not from a book, but from Byrd's website, and with his authorization, which was clearly indicated by me. Your method of "shoot first, ask later" makes no friends. But thanks for wikifying the table; the online HTML to Wiki converter by User:Magnus Manske has its shortcomings. Cheers, L.Willms (talk) 06:52, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
L.Willms Again, as I already explained, per policy and U.S. Law, any copyrighted material must be removed. I was following the rules If infringement is not blatant or the speedy deletion criteria do not apply: Remove the infringing text or revert the page to a non-copyrighted version if you can.. The only person who can give their approval is Mr. Byrd. You cannot give permission. If the majority of the article is from copyrighted material, the article will be deleted without asking permission from the editor. Your quote of, "I see it as quite strange to make such a fuss about copyright." shows you do not understand the copyright rules. Bgwhite (talk) 07:13, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Your Edit Error, Kindly review the article Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College again

Hi, this is suman chowdhury Suman chowdhury 22 . An edit made by u in the page :Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College recently is wrong. The Autonomous grant given By University Grants Commission of India to the above mentioned college is an achievement for the eminent institution. Hence, you should not question the neutrality of the view of any user, if he writes the achievement of a institution/ College. This does not either happen with pages of other institutions in India. Kindly, review your changes and bring it back to the main article. The page has a complete "neutral point of view" (no additional/false details), if you evoked this point in the article since I am a student of this institution then this is completely unfair. Kindly uplift this message too from the article. Suman chowdhury 22 (talk) 13:53, 14 November 2015 (UTC)

Suman chowdhury 22 You are not adding any references. You are only adding awards and achievements. The statement "College was granted Autonomy by..." doesn't need to list all of the reasons why it was granted Autonomy, only that it did. Think of the College's article as an overview. An overview would mention the Autonomy, but wouldn't go into detail. You have been adding alot of good info to the article and have improved the article. Bgwhite (talk) 05:42, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:NOR noticeboard

There's already Misplaced Pages:OR noticeboard, and similar redirects to other noticeboards, but "NOR" is a better match for the page name and acronym-based shortcuts. It isn't linked anywhere in page text, but shortcuts don't have to be; the links to the "OR noticeboard" version weren't made until after that shortcut was created. If Misplaced Pages:NOR noticeboard redirected to the noticeboard, the only difference is that it was not created by an administrator. Peter James (talk) 01:15, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

Bill the Galactic Hero Thank you and don't worry... you will make more mistakes, it's part of editing around here. We all make mistakes. Bgwhite (talk) 05:54, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

AWB edit - did more than you wanted?

Not sure exactly what VE problem you were trying to fix with this AWB edit (although I am interested as I am trying to use the VE in preparation for doing future training in it), but the edit seemed to delete a bunch of stuff that I don't think it should have. Just thought I should let you know in case there's a problem with the script. (I've fixed the article so no need to worry about that). Kerry (talk) 07:29, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Kerry Raymond The empty spans and nowikis were VE issues. I spend a couple hours a day fixing VE's barf and WMF's refusal to fix stuff. The attribution stuff shouldn't be there. That goes on the talk page and should have been mentioned on the edit summary, which you did. Maybe use them as external links? When there are no external links, the commons category link goes up, in this case the reference section. Bgwhite (talk) 07:39, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Madeleine I believe is located in the Pacific North West, USA. The girl looks younger than she says, has blue greens eyes, with fleck in right eye, blonde hair, same face structure, her baby pictures look spot on with Missing Maddie pictures, has tiny brown spot on her left upper leg, her ears and neck match the description of Maddie as well, and she told me people have told her throughout the years comments like have you been on tv?, Kids would pick on her and say adopted kids are weird, definitely worth looking into. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1:8710:b840:a54e:fdb1:c639:e01d (talk) 14:18, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

Bot malfunctioned

Can you tell why Special:Diff/690415668 happened? Jackmcbarn (talk) 03:49, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Jackmcbarn What the #*)*@&??? That is just plain weird. What's strange is Yobot was there a few minutes earlier, it ran fine and my bot shouldn't have changed anything because Yobot fixed it. Yobot was running a newer version of AWB than I was. (The number at the end of the edit summary is what SVN version AWB is running. It's a developmental version. No number in the edit summary and it's a stable version) I've tried to reproduce it with an older and newer version, but they don't barf. I looked at the edits before and after, but there was nothing wrong. I've never seen that before. Rjwilmsi do you any ideas? Bgwhite (talk) 05:27, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
It's clearly an indication of a bot rebellion forming. What happened is that you programmed your bot to be smart, and it has now become autonomous. As it continues, it will do more than badly reformat pages. It will hijack other bots, grow and learn and then take over the world. :p—Chat:Offline 05:37, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
cyberpower There is a slight problem with your theory... me. I programmed the bot to be smart, grow and learn??? How can I program those things when I can't do them myself. If you don't believe me, just ask my wife. Gosh, my wife and I just agreed on something. I need to go and write this momentous occasion down. Bgwhite (talk) 05:47, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Maybe on the surface you're that way, but I know what you're doing in secret. :p Don't tell me the secret robot army you have hiding in your second basement isn't yours. I'm surprised you could keep this a secret from your wive so long. :p—Chat:Online 20:05, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
Jackmcbarn Magioladitis says ⌊⌊⌊⌊0⌋⌋⌋⌋ is AWB "code's placeholder when we remove stuff and put them back." He thinks it was a temporary loss of connection that caused it. Bgwhite (talk) 06:36, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing error.

Hello Bgwhite, Thanks for your edit. I misapplied it there, it was supposed to go elsewhere. Thanks once again, I have fixed the others now. By, User 2know4power (talk) 05:06, 20 November 2015 (UTC).

2know4power Thank you for cleaning up the other ones. Bgwhite (talk) 05:14, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
Hello Bgwhite, I had been practicing in my user account's sandbox using the image & caption to be attached. In my user account's sandbox, the image had two sets of captions: one with standard wikilinks & the other one formatted like external links. I had misapplied it to that article there. (I was trying to figure out something, will try & find out a way for it). Thanks once again for your editing efforts. By User 2know4power (talk) 06:16, 20 November 2015 (UTC).

Help

Addanki page and many others have category as Andhra Pradesh district templates. But it is not a tempalte, how to remove that?--Vin09 (talk) 08:27, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Vin09 Well, that took some digging. The template {{Villages in Prakasam district}} contained Category:Andhra Pradesh district templates. Removing that category from the template removed it from the articles. I think there is another template with the category. I'll hunt that down. Bgwhite (talk) 08:40, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
Vin09 Ok, there was no <noinclude> tag around ]. Without that, the category propgated to the articles. In {{Villages in Prakasam district}}, I only put the noinclude around one cat and not both. Bgwhite (talk) 09:00, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Chaino

Greetings. During recent cleanup of Chaino's article, an internal link to Kirby Allen's hometown was removed. I have located very little information about Allen. He seems to have been retired and primarily interested in local politics at the time of his death. Also, I'm not sure of his WP:N, but along with being mentioned as an actor, a nightclub singer and entertainment producer, it appears that Allen was instrumental to Chaino's career.

All this being said about Allen, I wonder if there is a way to allow this information on Chaino's page, or at least to allow the link to Allen's hometown? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Curley Wolf (talkcontribs) 19:30, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Curley Wolf The only thing I did on the page was to remove a reference that was to Misplaced Pages. Misplaced Pages is not a reliable reference because anybody can edit it. The same goes for IMDb. The other two references are valid to use. However, only The Guardian reference mentions both Allen and Chaino teaming up. Bgwhite (talk) 06:54, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
I see your point, Bgwhite. I'll put some thought into constructing an article about Kirby Allen. Thank you for the quick response! Curley Wolf (talk) 07:08, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

Blocked External Resource on Headset Page

Hi Bgwhite. I'm Nick. Nice to meet you :) I posted an external resource on the Headset page redirecting visitors to a 'Virtual Call Center Headset' page I created. I'm not 100% familiar with the Misplaced Pages shortcodes but it looks like you moderated and removed the link (apologies if my plea is misdirected). Sad, but also very cool that the page & the moderators are very active! I really think the resource adds value to the page, but of course I'm biased because I created it. For those in the world that are visual learners (like myself), the site is a great tool. The references on the existing Misplaced Pages page are technically awesome, but very dry. None show the simple mechanics of a headset, like the stirrup, boom, or windscreen. I admit, the site was developed commercially for a client, but they have nothing to do with headset sales and won't commercially benefit from a link to this resource. I developed it for them so they could show their own clients how call center background noise was likely due to the CSRs volume setting "keyed in" wrong and not a noisy call center. I thought the project turned out pretty cool and it could help other people understand headsets - so I decided to share it! Anyway, I hope you'll reconsider, or at least re-review and let me know if there is anything I can add to the site to make it Misplaced Pages worthy. Thanks Bgwhite. I look forward to hearing back on this thread. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.94.16.230 (talk) 05:10, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

WP:LISTGAP

Hello; I just wanted to notify you that, having over the past week or so, reviewed the Manual of Style page you referred me to, I feel quite fine and satisfied with these, in retrospect unnecessary, line-breaks being removed within those articles—it had come as a somewhat surprise, however, although I am determined to get used to the differing, fixed syntax layout when I edit and proofread them once again. Furthermore, my question is: how exactly did you manage to remove these line-breaks? Did you do it automatically, or did you have to go through them all manually? I would really like to know, as I am planning to the same with the other articles, as well. Thanks. Neve-selbert (talk) 01:19, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Neve-selbert I used AWB, which will in most cases remove the blank lines. This feature was only added to the latest release, which came out last month. It won't fix cases where the blank line has a space or tab... Also, when a return happens in a list item, usually a ref placed on a newline. You have to sign up to use AWB or you can bug me to run it on some articles. AWB will fix or warn about a whole host of issues. Bgwhite (talk) 05:27, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Indian article

HI Bgwhite,

I created a page for Public figure in India. But due to certain reason you deleted it. Lets talk over the issues i am missing. I will edit with the correct information this time and with better sources. Before deleting please consult with me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sufitruth (talkcontribs) 12:00, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Sufitruth I need more information. What article are you talking about? Bgwhite (talk) 21:29, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Syed Mohammad Izhar Ashraf I was talking about this page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sufitruth (talkcontribs) 14:45, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
Sufitruth According to the logs, I've never deleted that page nor edited it. It currently has a copyright violation notice on it. This means it appears you copied the article from other sources. This is not only against Misplaced Pages rules, it is also against the law. This needs to be fixed or the article will be deleted. Bgwhite (talk) 22:56, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. ISBN problems

Misplaced Pages references

Why are references deleted from my wiki page? Hatripet (talk) 14:49, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

Hatripet First off, nobody "owns" a Misplaced Pages article. Misplaced Pages is an unreliable reference as anybody can edit it. You are also adding the same book to alot of articles, including a link where to buy the book. This is called linkspam. Bgwhite (talk) 18:28, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

Thank you, Bgwhite, I get it and will not do it i the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hatripet (talkcontribs) 14:17, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Historic spellings

Re this edit to the List of shipwrecks in 1768, I note that you did not change the spelling of the ship "Vigilence", which was correct per the quoted source. Thanks for not rewriting history. I think it is important not to rewrite history and historic spellings are part of this. I am aware of {{Not a typo}} and do use it, but some of them get missed. Adding a page number to multiples entries of the same source using the <ref name=> template

Hi Bgwhite. Any idea how can a page number be included for each occurence of the same sources using the <ref name=> template? I thought I would try, but failed. Thanks, please if you can fix, so i can see how you did/ do it. Much appreciated. Regards, Rui Gabriel Correia (talk) 19:32, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
