User:Kbh3rd/Courthouses
Glad to be an inspiration :-) It's not originally mine — the page was created by User:W.marsh before his retirement, and I moved it to my userspace so that it wouldn't be totally forgotten. For a few years, I lived in southern Indiana, and I took many trips to Kentucky (by the time I moved away last summer, I'd visited every county in the state), and I found this page useful for holding courthouse photos. I've spent most of my time on National Register photos (e.g. National Register of Historic Places listings in New Madrid County, Missouri, where I've uploaded one photo), but courthouses are always something useful to get too. Glad that you found my New Madrid and Mississippi images useful; I'm sorry that I couldn't get better for Charleston, but it's a not-so-good camera that I've since replaced. For a while now, I've had an actual article saved on my hard drive, listing Illinois county courthouses (I visited all of their counties, too), but I've never gotten around to putting it online. I really ought to finish it!
I've not seen much of Missouri myself; except for quickly crossing the river from Quincy to Hannibal and a day of walking around downtown St Louis, all I've really seen are Ste-Geneviève and the counties south of Cape Girardeau. It's a bit far from western Indiana unless you're taking an all-day trip, and when your interest is National Register photography, eastern Missouri isn't the place to go unless you're specifically interested in the state. ArbCom elections are now open!
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
