He was the son of Haakon and Margaret and king of Denmark (1376-1387 and of Norway (1380-1387). His mother Margaret greatly influenced Olaf though being the king of Denmark and Norway. Upon his death, Margaret unified the three Scandinavian kingdoms under her crown in 1389.
