The February 12, 1950 tornado outbreak was a deadly tornado outbreak that affected Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. The tornadoes killed 36 people and left 169 injured.

Notable tornadoes

Logansport–Stonewall–Shreveport–Red Chute–Shongaloo, Louisiana

The deadliest tornado of the outbreak, an F4 that struck several cities along an 82.6-mile-long track, touched down in Logansport and traveled north-northeast. The tornado struck Stonewall, demolishing hundreds of buildings, killing at least six. Major damage was reported at North DeSoto High School, where the right side of the building collapsed. The tornado entered the Shreveport area, obliterating many homes and businesses. The tornado tracked into the downtown area, killing two. Nine more people were killed in the Bossier City area. The tornado exited Shreveport and Bossier City. The tornado impacted Red Chute, killing one person. The tornado through a large area of trees before striking Shongaloo as a very weak tornado. The tornado dissipated west of Millerton. At least 18 people were killed and 77 were injured.

Zwolle–Martin–Castor–Mt. Lebanon–Gibsland, Louisiana

A very long–tracked tornado touched down in Zwolle, causing minor damage, including several homes that had significant shingle damage. The tornado tracked through Martin, where homes where leveled and trees were downed. The tornado then tracked through Castor, destroying homes and buildings, killing at least six residents. The tornado tracked into Mount Lebanon before dissipating near Gibsland.

F1 Dublin area Erath 32°05′N 98°21′W / 32.08°N 98.35°W / 32.08; -98.35 0115 2.3 miles (3.7 km) A tornado damaged many structures and buildings in the Dublin area.
F2 Groesbeck area Limestone 31°31′N 96°33′W / 31.52°N 96.55°W / 31.52; -96.55 0610 3.4 miles (5.5 km) Many houses were destroyed, but no injuries or fatalities occurred.
F1 Center to N of James Shelby 31°48′N 94°12′W / 31.8°N 94.2°W / 31.8; -94.2 1157 7.7 miles (12.4 km) A tornado injured 32 people in the town of Center, where many poorly-built structures were severely damaged. This tornado was the satellite tornado of the F3 tornado that struck Center.
F3 Center area Shelby 31°48′N 94°12′W / 31.8°N 94.2°W / 31.8; -94.2 1200 1.9 miles (3.1 km) 3 deaths – A tornado destroyed many structures and overturned cars along Timpson Street. Trees were uprooted along with many destroyed homes and outbuildings.

F2 ESE of Hickory Flat (Second tornado) Union 34°36′N 89°07′W / 34.6°N 89.12°W / 34.6; -89.12 1200 0.1 miles (0.2 km) 3 deaths – The twin vortex of the first Hickory Flat tornado struck a house, killing three out of a family of five when a wall fell on them. The other two suffered minor injuries.

F2 SSW of Caspiana to WNW of Haynesville DeSoto, Red River, Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne 32°12′N 93°35′W / 32.2°N 93.58°W / 32.2; -93.58 1320 58.4 miles (94.0 km) 5 deaths – A very long-tracked tornado touched down in a wooded area of land near Caspiana. The tornado gradually strengthened as it headed in a north-northeasterly direction. The tornado passed between several small communities, destroying many rural homes, killing one. The tornado passed through Doyline, killing two more. When the tornado struck Minden, two more people were killed when a house was completely destroyed. The tornado steadily weakened as it headed towards Haynesville. The tornado dissipated just outside of the Haynesville city limits.
