Battleground (2016) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event and WWE Network event produced by WWE. It will take place on July 24, 2016 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.. It will be the fourth event under the Battleground chronology.

Background

Battleground (2016) will feature professional wrestling matches involving wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds or storylines that play out on WWE's primary television programs, Raw, SmackDown and NXT. Wrestlers portrayed heroes (faces) or villains (heels) as they followed a series of events that build tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.
