Battleground (2016) is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event and WWE Network event produced by WWE. It will take place on July 24, 2016 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.. It will be the fourth event under the Battleground chronology. It will be the first WWE Network, since its inception, and PPV event, since August 29, 2011, as part of the Brand Extension, announced on May 25, 2016. As of, May 28, 2016 it is not known whether this will be a RAW or Smackdown exclusive event.
