William Lawson Harris ,Jr. (1897-1948) was an American director and actor who made a number of films in Australia. He came to Australia originally at the behest of Arthur Shirley to work as production manager on The Throwback (1920) and stayed out there for a number of years. William,Jr. was the youngest son of businessman/politician, William Lawson Harris ,Sr. (1858-1938) and Dorothy Agusta Johnson (1857-1933). William,Jr. Married in 1923 Dolores Johnson (1896-1979).

William Lawson Harris ,Jr. was the father of actor and director John Derek.
