Gosu
Korean Name
Revised Romanization Gosu
McCune-Reischauer Kosu
Hangul 고수
Hanja 高手

In Korean, gosu (lit. a better hand) is used to refer a person with great skill, usually in martial arts or in Baduk. Currently on the internet, gosu often refers to a good player of computer games, such as StarCraft, Diablo II, Lineage, and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

The word comes from the Mandarin Chinese term gao shou (also 高手), which literally means high hand. A gao shou is someone with a large amount of skill.

Gosu (고수; 鼓手) is also a term used in Korea to refer to a drummer in Pansori.
