Flyboys is a 2006 motion picture set during World War I.
The film is based on an original screenplay by Phil Sears and Blake Evans and was shot on location in the United Kingdom in Spring 2005.
Plot
The movie follows several members of the Lafayette Escadrille, American pilots who volunteered to fight in the French Air Force during the First World War prior to America's entrance into the war.

Trivia
1. This film is set prior to the US entry into WWI, yet the Fokker Dr.I triplane was only available in large numbers from 1917 on (the year of US intervention). If this movie followed historical accuracy, the Lafayette Escadrille would already be under United States command, and all her pilots US Army Air Corps officers.
2. The trailers show multiple all red Fokker triplanes, yet in the Flying Circus, the only plane allowed to be all red in color was that of the Red Baron.
3. Zeppelins flew only at night, so the day attack upon the airship was highly unlikely, as was a man running along a zeppelin in flight.
