It is located in the south of the country. It has a total area of 1362 skm and 81523 inhabitants. The center of canton government is Široki Brijeg. Citizens are mostly ethnic Croats.
The canton is divided into the municipalities of Grude, Široki Brijeg, Ljubuški and Posušje.
