Gabrielle Jeanette Hanna (born February 7, 1991) is an American vlogger and web-based comedian. She is best known for her Vine account and YouTube videos.

Life

Gabrielle Jeanette Hanna was born on February 7, 1991, to parents of Lebanese, French, and Polish descent. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in psychology, a degree in communications, and a minor in economics.

Career

Hanna began her career on the social networking platform Vine after graduating from college and while working as a waitress. She claims her pseudonym, "The Gabbie Show", was a nickname she would be referred to as when she was younger for being "obnoxious", and began to film herself in front of a mirror as "The Gabbie Show". She began using Vine shortly after moving to Los Angeles when fellow Vine personality Jessi Smiles taught her how to use the service. She claims to have started using Vine after comedian Bo Burnham shared one of his Vines on his Twitter account. Starting on Vine, she collaborated with many Vine creators such as David Dobrik, Alx James, and Jessie Smiles while the application was still active. Shortly after her rise to fame on Vine, she began a YouTube channel, mainly telling anecdotes about her personal life. She is known for collaborating with fellow YouTubers Shane Dawson, Miranda Sings (Colleen Ballinger), and Liza Koshy.

In 2015, as an advocate for youth smoking prevention, Hanna participated in a 100-stop tour for Truth, a national campaign aimed at curbing youth smoking in the United States.

In November 2016, Hanna began a twenty city tour, "Drop the Mic", hosted by Chachi Gonzales, and featuring Jack Baran, Ricky Dillon, and Andrew Lowe.
