Jeff Hanneman, born August 19, 1964 in Oakland USA, is best known as a guitarist of the thrash metal band Slayer. Jeff Hanneman wrote probably the most well-known thrash song ever: Angel Of Death. Jeff also has a brother, his name is Joey. With Tom Araya's brother, John, they started the band Bloodcum but nothing happened with that band. Their record was named "Death by Clothes Hanger" and it was a huge failure.

Jeff Hanneman is also one of the only musicians in heavy metal (Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford the other notable example) to publicy acknowledge his homosexuality. His descision to go public meant his band risked alienation from the less tolerant elements present within the genre, but massive world wide sales and high grossing world tours are testament to how far Heavy Metal has come.
