Name Origin
Mudkip's name might be derived from the words mud and kipper, but there may be a more accurate name origin.

According to the pokédex, this pokémon uses its fin "to sense...what is taking place around it" and when it's underwater, it "breathes using the gills on its cheeks." Additionally, if it senses it's in danger, it "will unleash its amazing power - it can crush rocks bigger than itself." ==Type== It is a water type.
