G Class is one of the frigate classes of the Turkish Navy. They are all ex-Oliver Hazard Perry class of guided-missile frigates mainly designed for air defence with a weapons fit optimised for general warfare enough to do most jobs adequately. There are totally eight ships under G class in Turkish Navy under B class named as TCG GAZİANTEP (F-490), TCG GİRESUN (F-491), TCG GEMLİK (F-492), TCG GELİBOLU (F-493), TCG GÖKÇEADA (F-494), TCG GEDİZ (F-495), TCG GÖKOVA (F-496), TCG GÖKSU (F-497). These ships are now being upgraded under Genesis Modernization Project, which aims to develop modern tactical combat management systems using Turkish Navy's own expertise.

Dimensions (Length-Beam-Draught): 135.6 x 13.7 x 8.5 m.

Displacement Tonnage (Full Load): 4100 t.

Propulsion: 2 x GE LM 2500 Gas Turbines/41.000 HP/1 Propeller; 2 x Auxilary propulsion units for maneuver at the bow.

Maximum Speed: 30 kts.

Range: 4500 nm. at 20 kts.

Complement: 19 Officer, 203 P/O and enlisted

Helicopter: AB-212, SeaHawk (ASW/EW/ASuW)
