About Chris Griswold

My name is Chris Griswold, and I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I was born and grew up in Franklin, PA, where I attended Central Elementary and Franklin Area High School. I previously lived in New York City, where I worked at Jim Hanley's Universe.

Education

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English writing from the University of Pittsburgh, along with a film certificate and a minor in German. At Pitt, I was a squadleader in the University of Pittsburgh Varsity Marching Band; a sister of Tau Beta Sigma service sorority; and a member of Quo Vadis, the group that gives tours of the historic Cathedral of Learning. I was very active with The Pitt News as a copy reader, columnist, reporter and reviewer, finally holding editorial positions in the Opinions and News sections.

Improvisational Theatre

It was at Pitt that I attended Friday Nite Improvs, Pittsburgh's legendary cult improv show. As a result of this exposure, I moved to New York City, where I studied and performed improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

Lexi

In 2002, I met my fiancee Lexi at an improv show. She and I were engaged December 28, 2004 in New York City. As an engagement present, I gave Lexi a beaufiful drawing by DC Comics artist Cliff Chiang of Green Arrow proposing to Black Canary. Lexi will graduate from Pitt this year after receiving Bachelor's degrees in both Arts and Sciences. She is majoring in Psychology, Philosophy, and History and Philosophy of Science and incidentally has almost enough credits for a Chemistry major. On top of all of this, she has taken many science courses in a few short terms in order to apply to study veterinary medicine. She's crazy.
