Alexandra Nicole "Alex" Fielding (born Artemis DuBaer on October 31, 1987) is a fictional character and one of the two main characters from the popular book series by H.B. Gilmour and Randi Reisfeld called T*Witches.
Character information
Alex is the daughter of Aron and Miranda DuBaer and the twin sister of Camryn Barnes. She was born as the moon was setting and wears the moon amulet.
Alex's style is punk, and doesn't care what people think about her and always changes her hair different colors. She grew up in rural Crow Creek, Montana with her mother Sara (who later dies from smoking) in a trailer park. Her father Issac left the family when she was very young.
Alex's powers are telekinesis, cryokinesis, telepathy, precognition, hyperactive sense of smell and hearing, tracking people with her mind, and clairvoyance (in book 10 she started to get visions).
Alex's best friends are Lucinda Carmelson and Evan Fretts and her boyfriend throughout the series is Cade Richman.
Film differences
In the film version, Alex is the sarcastic, and middle-class twin. She writes the story of Coventry and is always up when the moon is up. Her mother used to say that she's 'part werewolf'. She lives with her friend Lucinda, and meets Camryn at a fashion store, where she was trying to get a job and was hired. At the beginning of the film she was always cautious, but as the film came to the end, the tables flipped and it was Camryn who become the twin of caution and disbelief. Together they defeat the darkness, and return to Camryn's house safe and sound to continue celebrating their birthday which is on Halloween.
Alex Fielding was portrayed by Tia Mowry in the Disney Channel Original Movie Twitches which was released in 2005 and Twitches 2 is set for release in 2007.
Notes
- The first book, The Power of Two was published in the year 2001, in which the twins were 14 years old in the fall of their freshman year of high school, which was in fall 2001. In the last book, Destiny's Twins (2004), the twins are 16.
