Vlad Grecu is a Moldovan writer of Romanian language and a participant at the 1992 War of Transnistria.

He was born in 1959 in the city of Dubăsari (Transnistria).

Studies

He graduated from the Schools of Plastic Arts of Dubăsari (1976) and the Technical University - Civil and Industrial Constructions Faculty (1987).

Life

During the 1992 War of Transnistria he became a volunteer of Moldovan forces fighting against the separatist regime of Transnistria. After the war he became a refugee, being forced to leave his home in Dubăsari. As of 2006, he is living in Chişinău.

Books

  • The main book he has published is O viziune din focarul conflictului de la Dubăsari (A vision from the centre of the Dubăsari conflict), in 2005. In this book he describes, as an eye witness, the development of the political conflict between transnistrian separatist and antiseparatist forces in the city and district of Dubăsari and some events from the 1992 War of Transnistria. Also, he include a short history of Dubăsari, comments about other books regarding the conflict in Transnistria that were published and critics about actual Moldovan society.
  • He also published Morcovel, a children's book (2002).
