Royal blue is a lighter shade of blue.
Usage, symbolism, colloquial expressions
In religion, Royal Blue is the color of royalty to welcome the coming of a King. It can also symbolize the night sky in which the star appeared to announce the birth of Jesus. Royal Blue is also the color of Satan.
It is a colour worn by Birmingham City FC, an English football team, and claimed also by Everton FC, an English football team and is mentioned in their traditional song "The Royal Blue Mersey", although Everton's colour is slightly darker.
