Bestowed by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame was created in 2000 to honor the leaders in the consumer technology industry who have shaped and advanced innovation. With In Hwoi Koo's induction, LG Corp. and its subsidiaries represent more industry pioneers in the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame than any other company in the world.
This honor recognizes In Hwoi Koo's key role in creating the worldwide consumer electronics business and establishing LG as a global force, while reflecting the emergence of Korea's electronics industry as the global technology leader.
Entrepreneurial process
Since 1926, he has been in Seoul Central High School for two years, and later became the head of corporate business. Capital was accumulated during the Japanese colonial rule of Korea. When he was young, he thought that only by relying on the power of capital to enhance the country's competitiveness, can the entire nation be freed from the pain of colonial rule. After Japan surrendered, in 1947, it established the predecessor of Lejin, Lexi Chemical Industry Association, which initially produced only cosmetics “Lexi Cream”. At the end of the Korean War, his company entered the plastics industry for the first time in Korea in order to develop a fragile cosmetic bottle cap. It has produced plastic products such as combs, soap boxes, toothbrushes and tableware, and has contributed to improving people's living standards. After that, the development focus will be shifted to the emerging electronics industry and cleaning products.
History of LG corporation
LG Corp. established as Rak-Hui Chemical Industrial Corp. in 1947. In 1952, Rak-Hui (pronounced "Lucky", currently LG Chem) became the first South Korean company to enter the plastics industry. As the company expanded its plastics business, it established GoldStar Co. Ltd. (currently LG Electronics Inc.) In 1958, both companies Lucky and GoldStar merged and formed Lucky-GoldStar.
GoldStar produced South Korea's first radio. Many consumer electronics were sold under the brand name GoldStar, while some other household products (not available outside South Korea) were sold under the brand name of Lucky. The Lucky brand was famous for hygiene products such as soaps and HiTi laundry detergents, but the brand was mostly associated with its Lucky and Perioe toothpaste. Even today, LG continues to manufacture some of these products for the South Korean market, such as laundry detergent.LG Electronics was established in 1958 and has since led the way into the advanced digital era thanks to the technological expertise acquired by manufacturing many home appliances such as radios and TVs.
In 1995, to compete better in the Western market, the Lucky-GoldStar Corporation was renamed "LG". The company also associates the letters LG with the company's tagline "Life's Good". Since 2009, LG has owned the domain name LG.com.LG Electronics has unveiled many new products, applied new technologies in the form of mobile devices and digital TVs in the 21st century and continues to reinforce its status as a global company.
