From cinnamon colbert re wikicriticism.

So, if I find someone who has published a paper criticizing wiki, then it is ok ? Surely, you would allow (doesnt that say it all)an article on the lines of "Paper reference works - problems avoided with online reference works". Or how about an article, sociology of wiki editors as example of group self presevation; just as , say police officers or teachers or any group defends its members, fairly or unfairly, you aare defending wiki editors... I could go on, but whats the point: you have POWER and are not afraid to use it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cinnamon colbert (talkcontribs)

new interest

Hi Aecis, that Turkey football vandal seems to be your new interest:) (S)He is really highly motivated on this vandalising thing, he has been vandalising for about 6 months. Btw, thanks for your interest. --Ugur Basak 11:19, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

My apologies for my late reply. I came across Burak18 some time ago, via Ajax Amsterdam and Netherlands national football team, which are both in my watchlist. It took a while before the thought of widespread vandalism dawned on me, and it was Konst.able who first mentioned the name of Burak18 to me. I now try to keep track of his sockpuppets as much as possible on Category:Suspected Misplaced Pages sockpuppets of Burak18. If you come across a new sock, could you add that to the category as well? Thanks a lot for reverting the vandalism :) Aecis 00:02, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
No problem Aecis:) He seems to revert these pages everyday, here is his last sock User:Rickysdjunk, i've added it to sock category. You can block it. Actually there is a new, sock user he is working on a different Turkey football club article. Do you want me to show you evidences, if it's necessary. He is revert warring with a user with different user names:) --Ugur Basak 11:51, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

  • hey, thanks a lot for cleaning up that complaint on Francis Schonken. i had misspelled his name the first time, then i couldnt relocate my report, thats why i refiled, i guess a couple of times. i dont know how you did it, but you retrieved the correct one, and all is now well. Thanks much. Stevewk 00:12, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Fabolous cleanup

You placed a cleanup tag on the Fabolous article, after which cleanup work was done to it. If you have no objections I would like to remove the tag, or if you believe additional work is required please point out any further weaknesses you find. Seraphimblade 04:39, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Userfied article

Thanks for moving the Jason Bekiaris page to the user page - saved me the trouble of doing my first AfD, which I wasn't looking forward to! :) Bubba hotep 14:16, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Redirects

I've seen other people do this, too. How is this "fixing" the redirect? -- Steel 15:37, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Works for me regardless of capitals. Does User:Steel359/Sandbox not redirect you? -- Steel 15:53, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Deletion of my Band article

<Directed towards http://en.wikipedia.org/Candy_Pain> I noticed you deleted my article on a local band, I dont understand how you see this as article notable for deletion, i specified that i had work to do on it and also added the "hang on" tag. Now my article was on topic, it was related to the band and information on them, they have passed the band test by 'Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise'. If you had let me finish my page like i asked maybe then i would added more reasons why the band meets requirements.

I mean come on... you have 'http://en.wikipedia.org/Goodnight_Nurse' Thats pretty much the same to what i added, except their first album would be coming out tonight and i was going to add it on. But yea if you cant see a reason as to why my article should be placed back up then keep it that way, but i have alot more work to do to it, tonight they are recording their DVD, releasing their album and appearing at another gig, so please consider adding it back up again.

Thanks ~Josh

Jyllands-Posten

It looks like this guy is utilizng NYU's IPs and they're on 128.122.0.0/16, however, blocking NYU doesn't sound right.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 23:29, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
