Module:String

In Misplaced Pages:Templates for discussion/Log/2019 February 17 #Module:String you closed the discussion as "Merge" without any qualification. I don't believe there is sufficient consensus for that decision, given the caveats expressed by two of the five contributors. The concerns were not addressed in the debate and remain unanswered. I'd like you to reverse your close, or at least modify it to reflect the genuine issues that a simple merge would produce. --RexxS (talk) 21:50, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

RexxS, five editors are involved in this discussion. Gonnym and you are concerned that Module:String is fully-protected. It is better to ask an admin to reduce protection or just use {{edit protected}} template to let admins assist with the module Hhkohh (talk) 22:16, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Hhkohh: I'm aware that five editors took part in the discussion as I mentioned that above. Judging consensus is not a matter of counting !votes, but of weighing the strength of differing arguments. However, the concerns expressed by two of the editors were not addressed in the discussion and I fail to see how an unqualified "merge" can represent the consensus there. I don't see that raising the protection level of the code that I maintain to a level where I can no longer sensibly maintain it is a rational reflection of the debate there. There's always DRV if you remain convinced that your close was the right outcome. --RexxS (talk) 23:02, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
RexxS, I missed something while closing. Maybe I was tired. Fixed. Thanks again Hhkohh (talk) 09:18, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Deletion review for Module:String2

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Module:String2. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. This discussion above is a clear instance of falling to RexxS' pleading, which is not how TfDs should be closed. {{3x|p}}ery (talk) 16:40, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Guideline and policy news

Technical news

  • A new tool is available to help determine if a given IP is an open proxy/VPN/webhost/compromised host.

Arbitration

  • The Arbitration Committee announced two new OTRS queues. Both are meant solely for cases involving private information; other cases will continue to be handled at the appropriate venues (e.g., WP:COIN or WP:SPI).
    • paid-en-wp@wikipedia.org has been set up to receive private evidence related to abusive paid editing.
    • checkuser-en-wp@wikipedia.org has been set up to receive private requests for CheckUser. For instance, requests for IP block exemption for anonymous proxy editing should now be sent to this address instead of the functionaries-en list.

RfB

Why did she "have 3 RfA to become an admin?"...? Why don't you just read them for yourself? (You would then also see there were only 2 RfAs) What do you expect to accomplish with that question? Seriously. - wolf 20:12, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Thewolfchild, see the below, it will confuse you

RfAs for this user:

Hhkohh (talk) 22:05, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

OK. And... what do you expect to accomplish with that question? - wolf 22:26, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Let's try it this way, now that she has answered, what did you learn that you couldn't have already learned by looking at the 3 RfAs? (Or by simply guessing the obvious?) - - wolf 04:15, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

Template:Puke

Before I formally challenge you NAC of Template:Puke's TFD I would like to request that you reopen and relist it. There was only 1 keep !vote who then commented to delete and repurpose it. I don't know where you got no consensus from... --Zackmann (/What I been doing) 16:59, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

Similarly Misplaced Pages:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2019_February_28#Template:BIG_Synergy has only 1 comment. That is NOT no consensus. That is a CLEAR case for relisting. If you are going to be performing non-admin closures, you need to familiarize yourself more with the process. --Zackmann (/What I been doing) 17:02, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
You relisted multiple templates with only 1 vote, but felt that one should be closed as no consensus? I appreciate that you are trying to help, but would like to ask that you stop performing non-admin closures until you familiarize yourself more with the process. You have less than a year and a half on here. Step back and learn some more. --Zackmann (/What I been doing) 17:17, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
Zackmann08, why did you post to DRV before my replying? That is too bad. I am offline that time. Sometimes, may be error during closing Hhkohh (talk) 01:48, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
You need to slow down and step back. There is a LONG list of incorrect closures and relist from you. You've barely got 18 months here and a very low edit count to be doing WP:NAC. --Zackmann (/What I been doing) 03:08, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
Zackmann08, okay Hhkohh (talk) 03:09, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

Blegh!

You've been puked on.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know they did something silly.

This is probably one of the few times there's a legitimate reason to use this (former) template :-) Anyways, I generally agree with Zackmann08 to slow it down a bit with the non-admin closures. Let me know if I can be of any assistance or guidance. Legoktm (talk) 04:14, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
