Uchar Hadji (Otshar Yaqub from Gendergen) was, according to Caucasian War historians and sources as well as the modern ones, a chechen elderman, who killed two Russian generals at once.
Events in Gerzel aul in 1925
In the summer of 1825, the Russian troops, led by the generals Grekov and Lisanevich, deceived the elders from all of Chechnya in the Chechen settlement of Gerzel-Aul, telling them that Yermolov wanted to make peace. However, Yermolov did not come there. Instead of the promised peace treaty, the elders began to be disarmed and humiliated, it is likely that they were decided to be killed. When one of the generals grabbed Ochar-Khaji's beard, he suddenly stabbed both generals with a dagger, after which a fierce battle ensued between the Chechen elders and the tsarist troops..
