Thor 4 is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Thor, produced by Marvel Studios. It will be the sequel to 2011's Thor, 2013's Thor: The Dark World and 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, and will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

History

In 2017, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi stated that he would "love" to do another Thor film. On twitter Mark Ruffalo joked about the possibility of him reprising his role for a potential Thor 4. Taika Waititi stated that, should he do another Thor film, it would feel more like a second Thor: Ragnorak then a fourth Thor. Waititi also said that should he do Thor 4 he would like it to open with Jeff Goldblum's character The Grandmaster performing a play reenacting the ending of Thor: Ragnarok along with his Jurassic Park co-stars. In 2019 Tessa Thompson who played Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame said that she believed a fourth Thor film was being pitched at Marvel with Taika Waititi returning to direct.

After Thor joined the Guardians of the Galaxy, it is possible that Thor will be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
