On August 10th, 2019, a gunman injured 1 congregant at the Al-Noor Islamic Centre in Bærum, Norway before being subdued by other congregants. The suspect is believed to be a "young, white man". At the time of the shooting, there were only 3 people in the mosque. The gunman killed a family member before going to the mosque.

The gunman was later identified by Olso police as Philip Manshaus, a 21-year-old Norwegian citizen. He had entered the Al-Noor Islamic center with two "shotgun-like weapons" and a pistol; he also wore body armor and a helmet. Hours before opening fire on the Al-Noor Islamic center, the suspect praised the Christchurch mosque shootings and the Poway synagogue shooting in a online post on 4chan.
