Declined PROD (not originally by me). But I agree that this isn't a sufficiently interesting number to have an article for. The guidelines at Misplaced Pages:Notability (numbers)#Irrational numbers would seem not to favor this. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 20:58, 2 September 2019 (UTC)

• Delete. See Misplaced Pages:Notability (numbers)#Notability of specific individual numbers. This number has no special significance in mathematics, and no special properties distinct from other composite square roots. Its only cultural significance is (if one believes what is written in this article) as a bad and unsourced approximation to π, much worse than some of the ancient approximations described in Approximations of π and not even mentioned among the many many approximations described in that article. —David Eppstein (talk) 22:19, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
• Delete I have heard the bit about it being an ancient approximation to π, and as far as π lore goes it can probably be sourced, but that's not enough to build an article upon. XOR'easter (talk) 00:03, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

• Delete. I've also read about its use in approximating π, but as it's currently unsourced, there is no need for a merger. This one property alone doesn't seem enough for an article; I'm also not aware of any major formulas where this number appears. ComplexRational (talk) 02:00, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

• Delete Maybe move the content to either a list of square roots or a list of approximations of pi, but only if sourcing can be found. I think a similar test for irrational numbers to the one for integers in Misplaced Pages:Notability (numbers) should be devised. At least the "3 interesting, unrelated properties" should be applied.   • list of square roots is now only a redirect. And before it was a redirect, it was simply a list of a few articles about square roots. Bubba73 05:00, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
