TMNT (2003 Series) Episode Synopses

I think it's a good idea to make episode synopses. I considered doing it myself, but I really don't have the time. Anyway, it is allowed on Misplaced Pages, and a lot of shows have done it. Several show have their own page layout. The one I prefer personally would be the kind used on List of Futurama episodes and List of Family Guy episodes, but I recommend you check out some other shows to get a better perspective.

Good luck! Ritchy 23:51, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

The episode guide page looks great. Good work InnerCityBlues! Ritchy 02:37, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

TMNT (2003 Series) Screenshots

Thanks for the heads up regarding the TMNT screenshot, unfortunately it’s from a TV capture (Sorry, I don’t notice that line on the talk page until today). I’ll add all the information I have available as soon as I can. Overall if you feel the screenshot and synopses are of useable quality I can try and add a few more, your work on the page has been excellent so I’ll let you set the standard. wwwolf 19:30, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't mind at all. You have my blessings to ahead and replace the screenshots. The only images I really care about are those on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time page, but I don't think you're going after them! Thanks for your good work. -- Ritchy 14:20, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Character guide

Hi InnerCityBlues.

About your suggestion to make the links to the character subsection instead of the top of the character list page. While I agree it would be useful, unfortunately Misplaced Pages doesn't allow it. Just for a test, I've changed Angel's page to redirect to her subsection, and as you can see, it still redirects to the top of the page.

About the idea of making a character guide for each series in addition to the cross-series guide already up, well I'm not sure what purpose those extra guides would serve. The main guide already lists which characters appear where. And for characters that appear in multiple series, it's often interesting to have all the descriptions on a single page, to illustrate the similarities and differences between series. What would be gained by having series-specific guides?

But if you really want to have series-specific lists, I don't think it would warrant new pages. Maybe they could simply be added to each series' page?

By the way, I've been checking the episode guide from time to time. It's very impressive work. It must have taken you a lot of time, though! But it's very well done.

By the way, I've borrowed your "Image Pending" graphic for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (video games) page. Most of these games don't have any screenshots, or even wikipages, and I needed a place-holder image for the page. Anyway, I just thought I'd give you a head's-up. -- Ritchy 03:59, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello again ICB. I noticed you uploaded a new version of the image "CartoonShredder.jpg", and you called it "TMNT1987 Shredder.png". I just thought I'd let you know, you didn't have to upload a new image. You can just go to the original image's page and use the "Upload a new version of this file" option to replace the old image with a new one. That way,[REDACTED] won't have duplicate images and you don't have to visit each page that uses that image to update the link. Anyway, for this time, I've already requested that the old copy of the image be deleted. -- Ritchy 00:05, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Frank Frankson

Well, I changed one instance (within the episode "Insane in the Membrane"). I've never seen him credited as Campbell when referencing TMNT, though. I shall commence on the searching of information, though. The S 18:51, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

I asked my uber-TMNT obsessed friend (who is more obsessed and knowledgable than me, believe it or not), and it turns out John Campbell is his real name, despite what 99% of the sites on a Google search list. I'll make the change in the topic I edited,

and perhaps someone with more time can do a move and redirect to the Frank Frankson topic. Anyway, to quote what she told me:

"...at first he wasn't going to use his real name, he didn't realize how big TMNT was going to get, so he's now trying to get his real name out there. Get the credit for the show after all."
"...Heh Wayne use to slip and call him John at the conventions, when we still knew him only as Frank, that's when I realized Frank isn't his real name."

So, I was wrong. I'm man enough to admit it :p The S 02:27, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

African American revert

I saw that you reverted my edit -- and that's fine. However, the difference is more subtle than your stated reason. Plessy v. Ferguson was regarding the Lousiana state law requiring the segregation of whites and blacks. This is very different that racial classification -- and the one-drop law was not a part of the case. I quote from the Penn State Press excerpt of the book "Who is Black?" by F. James Davis:

Plessy’s lawyer did not raise the issue of racial classification before the Supreme Court, although he had done so in the lower courts. However, we may note that, in accepting the stipulation by the parties that Plessy was a Negro, the Court commented that it is commonly accepted that anyone known as a member of the Negro community is a Negro. That has been a customary indicator used, especially in the South, to implement the one-drop rule. If the Court had not accepted this indicator of Plessy’s racial identity, it apparently would not have heard the issue of racially segregated seating on interstate trains. Perhaps we might call this "informal judicial notice."

Now, this is important. The one-drop rule was not even brought before the Supreme Court and therefore the Court did not rule on it. The Court simply took it "as read" that Plessy was black and ruled strictly on the Jim Crow law of segregation on trains. Therefore, I dropped the paragraph. You could say that the court made a de facto ruling in the judicial notice, but that still is a stretch from what the article says and I feel would make the article misleading. I'm going to ask that you undo your revert unless you can find a citation that says the Supreme Court made a specific ruling on the one-drop rule. -- ShinmaWa 23:10, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

You can also edit the article Fallen Angel (TMNT 2003 Episode) during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. The article had been prodded, but I felt some discussion was merited first. --JaimeLesMaths 03:28, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

TV naming convention

Per your edit, please feel free to join the discussion. Keep in mind, though, that the naming convention you were unaware of has been at WP:TV-NC for quite some time. For example, look at this version from March 2, 2006:

Where an article is created about a single episode, add the series name in parentheses if there are other articles by the same name, e.g. Bart the Genius, but The Sting (Futurama).

Someone snuck an exception right after that sentence for Star Trek episodes but no other exception has been mentioned. Also keep in mind that this longstanding convention is simply an affirmation of the Misplaced Pages-wide guideline at WP:D which has been in place since the early days of Misplaced Pages.

Again, feel free to discuss it at WT:NC-TV or in the discussion for the page move request or wherever. The bulk of the useful discussion at WT:NC-TV has been focused around a request for comment which directed the general public to a large discussion. That discussion is quite informative and has been archived to Misplaced Pages talk:Naming conventions (television)/Archive 4. You might want to read that first to get a flavor of the trend that is being followed. —Wknight94 (talk) 03:32, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
