Plasmodium achiotense is a parasite of the genus Plasmodium subgenus Sauramoeba. Like all Plasmodium species P. achiotense has both vertebrate and mosquito hosts. The vertebrate hosts for this parasite are reptiles.

Description

The parasite was first described by Telford in 1972.
