Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Kristen Ashley
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Kristen Ashley, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DGG ( talk ) 06:03, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for message. The fact that other articles have not been deleted doesn't help you, either they met the criteria or should be deleted as well. See What about article x?. Also note that many articles would have been accepted before the notability guidelines were made stricter.
You can't quote opinions as if they are real facts, even if they are referenced. This isn't a review site, and Her writing style is unique is both promotional and an opinion. It's also not clear why 75 books in 14 languages with more than three million copies sold needs 15 references to verify at most three facts. Some, like the genealogy, seem totally irrelevant.
However, I've seen worse so I'll restore and clean it up a bit. I'll cut the number of refs for the first sentence, but you can use different ones if you wish. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:56, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
- OK, restored with these changes. I've moved the family after the writing, since the latter is what she's notable for, and just one external link to her main site please. Still too many unnecessary refs too Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:14, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
Your submission at Articles for creation: Kristen Ashley (October 5)
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by MurielMary was: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Misplaced Pages article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Misplaced Pages. The comment the reviewer left was: Please read the notability criteria for a writer to have a biography on Misplaced Pages. It seems that Ashley doesn't yet meet these requirements. Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. Article names
You can have "Mary Gertrude Anderson" or "Mary Gaiser Anderson". You cannot have "Mary (Gaiser) Anderson". That's not how article naming works. Choose one. DS (talk) 15:23, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
Kristen Ashley
Hi Azure! I'm so glad you found me and reached out. I've expanded and restructured your article on Kristen Ashley and moved it into project space. It clearly meets notability guidelines now. Some of the things I changed to make it clear - A) I moved the second paragraph of the lead into the body. Her influences and that kind of information were distracting from the key points (that she has sold 3 million copies of her books and they've been translated into 14 languages). I also added a line to the lead to mention that her books had been adapted into films. b) I created a new Career section to cover both the information that you had about her independent publishing career, and I added the movie stuff here. I also added a paragraph specifically calling out her accomplishments - the two bestseller lists, as well as the awards she has won or been nominated for. (normally, I'd rather source the awards to the original site, but Romantic Times has shut down :( so I sourced it to her About page) c) I added a new section heading for the information about her characters and writing style. That's important info! It's good to demonstrate that reviewers have put the effort in to document these themes. d) I took out all information sourced to Ancestry.com. We can't do that kind of research ourselves here on Misplaced Pages. If it isn't in an article, a book, or a really reliable blog, then it's primary research, and there's rules against that here.
Also, don't forget that when you leave a message, sign it with 4 tildes.
If you have any questions about future articles, feel free to reach out. I've been there/done that and would be happy to help. Karanacs (talk) 20:21, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
