Seems you forgot to block. Fixed. -- Alexf 00:06, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Thanks.
In case of IPv6 I usually block the /64 range , because in 99% cases it is dynamically assigned to the same internet connection. Materialscientist (talk) 00:12, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Blind or Bad Faith?

https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Brendan_Eich&type=revision&diff=949745508&oldid=949745234 You reverted an anon IP edit as shown above with the edit summary "Unexplained removal of content" and even left a note on his/her talk page suggesting that they "leave an edit summary" in the future. Problem is, they did in fact leave an edit summary, and explained their good-faith reason for their edit so within said edit summary. Whether or not the edit itself stays (seems to be a debate on the talk page) is significantly less concerning than the fact that someone with administrative privileges either completely failed to read the edit summary, OR read it, disagreed with it and subsequently decided to use a faulty reason to justify the reversion in the hopes that an anon IP wouldn't defend his/herself. I sincerely hope it is the former. 74.80.55.232 (talk)

R. Chetwynd-Hayes' Bibliography

I'm a professional writer, who only last year co-compiled the R. Chetwynd-Hayes bibliography for his centenary celebration collection of stories. So, you saying my edits to his wiki. bib. are 'unsourced' is incorrect. As for you saying the edit is 'too long' - I have not included a single book that is not part of his main bibliography. His output as a writer/editor was considerably big; especially between the years 1973-84.

And now you send me a 'cease and desist' message. Cease and desist from what? All I've done is made significant improvements to R. Chetwynd-Hayes' bibliography on his Wiki. page. Is this how you get your kicks? You jumped up little Napoleon.

(talk page watcher) You obivously have no idea how Misplaced Pages works. 1: You appear to have a conflict of interest WP:COI. 2: You are expected to discuss any disagreement(s) in a constructive manner and certainly not start calling experienced editors silly names. That is the start of the road to getting blocked from editing. Please reconsider and discuss in a friendly manner and sign any "contribution" you may make in the usual manner. Thank you, David J Johnson (talk) 11:09, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

I do not have a 'conflict of interest.' I made the edits for no other reason than to correct the mistakes and fill in the considerable blanks in his wiki. bibliography. I only brought up the fact that I professionally co-compiled R.C-H's centenary bibliography to prove that the edits are not 'unsourced' and are completely reliable on their own and as a whole.

(talk page watcher)I'm afraid that is your opinion only, you need to cite any reliable, secondary sources for them to be added. Please read and digest WP:COI...and you still cannot sign your "contributions" Please conform to Misplaced Pages conventions or go elsewhere. Thank you, David J Johnson (talk) 12:45, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Stephen Jones - who co-compiled the centenary bibliography - is one of the world's leading horror/sci-fi editors. He was also a close friend of the late author's. I think that's about as reliable a source as is humanly possible. MDL74 (talk) 13:30, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

But it is not quoted and in any case is WP:OR. Once again; Misplaced Pages requires reliable, secondary sources and not hearsay, friendships etc. I note you have yet to apologise for calling a senior editor silly names. Please comply or go elsewhere. Thank you, David J Johnson (talk) 19:08, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

'In general, the most reliable sources are:

Peer-reviewed journals Books published by university presses University-level textbooks Magazines, journals, and books published by respected publishing houses Mainstream newspapers'

edits on moral panics page

hi i have removed two sections on the page which are not moral panics but hoaxes and urban myths. moral panics are not urban myths. You reverted my changes, although i explained my changes in the edits.

Page deletion - Martin Chatterton

Hi there,

A page I recently created for author Martin Chatterton was removed by you. I have re-edited the content to address any problems, as well as added additional references to validate the facts. I am going to re-upload the article in hope that it now meets wikipedias guidelines. Please let me know if you have any concerns.

Edits to Professor Lord Robert Mair

I am making additions and edits to this listing as it is very old, incomplete and out of date and does not contain full details about Professor Mair's work. I have worked with Professor Mair at the University of Cambridge and have researched the addition and edits. Please let me know if you require further information.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame edit

Materialscientist,

Could you please tell me what I did in the Hunchback of Notre Dame article that was "disruptive editing"? I do not think what I did was disruptive editing. One of the things I did in that article was move info about the 1982 film onto the "TV film" section, but I checked on that and I see that it is also in the "Film" section, and you only have to mention the 1982 TV film only once. So I don't understand why you are so difficult right now. I insist that you allow me to fix that or I am going to keep being so mad at you forever for threatening to block my account. This is not fair; I do not believe I was disruptively editing that article, and if you tell me otherwise, then something is really wrong with you! WikiLover4Ever (talk) 01:10, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
