Étienne Denisse (1785 Carcasona – 1861 Bordeaux) was a French botanical artist, lithographer, botanist and horticulturist. The standard author abbreviation Denisse is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name.
Denisse worked at the horticultural gardens of the National Museum of Natural History, France. He lived for many years in the French West Indies, and was commissioned by the government of Guadalupe (France) to illustrate plants and collect botanical specimens. His greatest work, "Flore d'Amérique", impressed by its hand-coloured lithographs, and included species considered exotic at the time.
