He has served as President of Mali since 21 September 2020.
Life
Ndaw was born on 23 August 1950 in San, Mali. At one point Ndaw served as an aide-de-camp to Malian President Moussa Traoré. Ndaw was minister of Defense and head of the Malian Air Force in 2014 under President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta.
On 21 September 2020 he was named president by a group of 17 electors, with Assimi Goïta being appointed vice president. His inauguration is scheduled to take place on 25 September. The government is supposed to preside over an interim period of 18 months after the 2020 Malian coup d'état.
