Ilyas Attar Qadri was born in the month of Ramadan. Ilyas Attar Qadri follows the Hanafi fiqh although he accepts the three other fiqhs. Spreading the word of islam has always been a great aim of Ilyas Attar Qadri.

Books

Hazrat Alama Moulana Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadri (Damat-e-Barkathum'ul a'alya) has written many many books in Urdu and English some which are;

  • the mysterious beggar and other tales
  • the prices eid and other tales.
  • veeraan mahl(Urdu).
  • peyt ka kufle madina(Urdu).
  • subh e buhaara(Urdu).
  • Faizan-e-Sunnt (part One).
  • Faizan-e-Bismillah.
  • Faizan-e-Ramdan.
  • Adab-e-Tua'am.
  • and many more.

Dawat-e-Islami

Ilyas Attar Qadri is the head of a "non-political international propogational movement". Its aim is to guide people to the good and fill their hearts and minds with peace and love of the holy prophet sullula hu alahi wasalam (peace and blessings be upon him his family and all his companions). The name of this movement is very well known to many: "Dawat-e-Islami", meaning "invitation to good".

The people who are part of this can be identified wearing green turbans, which the prophet wore.
