Apparently in Texas it is a requirement to have a marker if you are designated a historic landmark. Since it will carry the category "Historical markers in the United States", the following text is added to clarify it's addition to the category "Purchase and display of a historical marker is a required component of the RTHL designation process".). The following are lists in a series of Recorded Texas Historic Landmarks (RTHLs) arranged by county as designated by the Texas Historical Commission and local county historical commissions in Texas. Purchase and display of a historical marker is a required component of the RTHL designation process.
