Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui is a major general in the Bangladesh Army who is the incumbent director general of the Border Guard Bangladesh. Prior to his promotion to major general, he served as the director of the Army Sports Control Board as a brigadier general.

Siddiqui is the chairman of Shimanto Bank. He was the director of the Internal Affairs Bureau of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence.

Career

Siddiqui joined the Bangladesh Military Academy received his commission on 10 December 1992.

Siddiqui also served as commander, 11th Artillery Brigade and director, Internal Affairs Bureau of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence. He was the chairman of the Army Sports Control Board. He was the director of Military Training Directorate.

Siddiqui was the head of the risk management committee and trustee board member of Trust Bank Limited. He served in United Nations Mission in Sudan and the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea.

On 30 January 2024, Siddiqui was appointed director general of the Border Guards Bangladesh replacing Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan. The deputy secretary of the Public Administration ministry, Abdullah Arif Mohammad, signed the gazette notification.

In February 2024, Siddiqui said that he would not allow any more Rohingya people to enter Bangladesh from Myanmar.
