Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Slip (ceramics), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Misplaced Pages:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 15:25, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me know. In re-reading the page I found that deflocculants were discussed under "Usage" and my edit was not necessary anyway. I will review the citation guidelines in the future. Jimmykurl (talk) 02:48, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Misplaced Pages’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Misplaced Pages administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to insert fringe or undue weight content into articles, you may be blocked from editing. Articles on Misplaced Pages do not give fringe material equal weight to majority viewpoints; content in articles are given representation in proportion to their prominence. Acroterion (talk) 01:07, 26 November 2024 (UTC)

Additionally, you are hiding substantial changes to content without describing them in edit summaries. Please make you case on the talkpage before doing anything else.Acroterion (talk) 01:09, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
What edits did I make that are consider fringe here?
The article I was editing is through and through a defamation piece with a clear political slant and every edit that I made has been reversed. Jimmykurl (talk) 03:36, 28 November 2024 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Acroterion (talk) 01:07, 26 November 2024 (UTC)

Every edit I made on this occasion was in majority removal of statements taken from articles that are blatantly slanderous and engaged in tabloid journalism which Misplaced Pages is supposed to prohibit. All my edits were immediately changed back which appears to fit your definition of warring more closely.
I also removed a citation from the page on The Real Anthony Fauci which was using a Youtube account as a source which there is no way to argue does not violate the terms of use here.
The article of Nicole Shanahan accuses her of things without proper evidence or references to the fact that the statements are unproven. In that sense wikipedia is engaged in misinformation and character assassination.
Ban me from editing if you want because there is no point in having the ability to do so if every change I made is reversed with no just cause.
I apologize for not having a thorough enough change description, that was not my intention I was simply unaware that the log had to be so specific.
Jimmykurl (talk) 03:27, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
If your edits are disputed, you are expected to explain them, supported by references, on the article talkpage. Edit summaries are just that, not spaces in which to present a case. In this particular instance, you kept changing "misinformation" to "information" without saying you were doing that, which is much more significant than the reference you kept mentioning. The term is well supported by the references in he body of the article, which the lede summarizes, and you are expected to gain consensus for changes of that nature once they've been challenged. Please read WP:FRINGE; Kennedy's views are well into fringe theory territory, regardless of the enthusiasm of his adherents, and it is well supported in reliable sources. Please remember that at least three contentious topics restrictions apply to that article, and determined editing against consensus of sourcing may bring editing restrictions.
As for YouTube videos, they aren't encouraged, but appropriately authenticated interviews can be used from YouTube, and don't violate the ToS. I would prefer that they only be used for direct attribution than for general statements, and had less concern than I did about the wholly inappropriate change of terminology against the rest of the sourcing. I have not reviewed your Shanahan edits, but you are expected to discuss those too if they have been disputed. Acroterion (talk) 14:41, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
