The inter-confederation play-offs of the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup qualification tournament will determine the final three qualification spots for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. The play-off tournament will be played in two phases in the international windows of November–December 2026 and February 2027 and will determine the final 3 slots at the World Cup.

Format

On 10 December 2024, the FIFA Council approved the slot allocation and format of the play-off tournament.

  • AFC (Asia): 2 slots
  • CAF (Africa): 2 slots
  • CONCACAF (North America, Central America and the Caribbean): 2 slots (both teams automatically advance to the second phase based on the results of the 2023 play-offs)
  • CONMEBOL (South America): 2 slots (the top-ranked team, based on FIFA rankings, also advances directly to the second phase due to Brazil hosting the 2027 World Cup)
  • OFC (Oceania): 1 slot
  • UEFA (Europe): 1 slot (automatically advancing to the second phase based on the results of the 2023 play-offs)

The first phase of the tournament will take place in November–December 2026 at a centralised venue. It will involve six teams ranked according to the FIFA Women's World Ranking before the draw. The top two teams from this phase will progress to the final phase.

The second phase will occur in February 2027, also at a centralised venue. This phase will include the two teams from the first phase and four additional teams: two from CONCACAF, one from CONMEBOL, and one from UEFA. The six teams will be drawn into three pathways, with knockout matches determining the final three qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. Teams from the same confederation cannot be drawn into the same pathway.
