Black Warrant is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language drama thriller streaming series made by Netflix, adapted from a 2019 book Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer by Sunil Gupta & Sunetra Choudhury. It is scheduled to be released on 10 January 2025. It is directed by Sacred Game fame Vikramaditya Motwane and Satyanshu Singh.

Premise

The web series is set in the 1980s, based on certain true events told from the perspective of Sunil Gupta who was a rookie jailer at Tihar Jail.

Production

In June 2020, it was announced that Motwane will be adapting the 2019 non-fiction book Black Warrant into a web series. Motwane's production company Andolan Films and journalist Josy Joseph's company Confluence Media & Vipin Agnihotri Films acquired the rights for the web series.

Release

The series is slated to premiere on Netflix on 10th January 2025.
