Calderón (pronounced [kaldeˈɾon]) is a Spanish and Sefardi occupational surname. It is derived from the Vulgar Latin "caldaria" ("cauldron") and refers to the occupation of tinker.
"Calderón" without any further specifics usually refers to Pedro Calderón de la Barca, the Spanish dramatist.
