Ctenus hibernalis, or the Alabama wandering spider, is a species of wandering spider in the family Ctenidae. It is found in the United States, almost exclusively within the state of Alabama.
Range and Habitat
Found primarily above the fall line in the state of Alabama. Generally prefers rocky mixed woodland relatively close to water. Sometimes invades human structures.
Venom
Ctenus hibernalis has a complex venom with neurotoxic components. Anecdotal reports of medical significance to humans are so far unsupported.
