History

Enechange Ltd. was founded in April 2015 by Yohei Kiguchi and is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market since December 2020. Enechange is led by Yohei Kiguchi, the CEO and Representative Director. The company is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

The company is committed to promoting digital transformation within the energy sector, with a particular focus on four key areas; Deregulation, Digitalization, Decarbonization, and Decentralization.

The company roots can be traced back to research conducted at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, primarily in the analysis of electrical power data.

Enechange operates in three main areas, which include the Energy Platform Business, Energy Data Business, and the EV Charging Business.

In 2021, Enechange Insight, previously known as Japan Energy Challenge, underwent a rebranding process to stimulate business development, particularly in the Japanese market.

The Japan Energy Fund (JEF) is an initiative by ENECHANGE, with a value of $100 million, dedicated to supporting energy-related projects.

The company has attracted investments from various entities, like Sumitomo Corporation and SK Gas.

In July 2017, Enechange made an acquisition of SMAP Energy, a company specializing in energy analytics and demand forecasting.
